Over 97% Of Fans Think This Is The Best Couple From Lost

ABC's science fiction series "Lost" might've ended in 2010, but it still has a strong cult following, and with good reason. The series follows a group of survivors from Oceanic Flight 815 that crash on a deserted island. Despite some confusing storylines and a divisive finale, "Lost" features well-developed characters with fantastic arcs, along with interesting mysteries that keep viewers guessing throughout the show's six seasons. Starring Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Terry O'Quinn as Locke, Jorge Garcia as fan-favorite Hurley, and many more great actors in compelling roles, "Lost" ran from 2004 to 2010 for more than 120 episodes. The series is created by J.J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber, and Damon Lindelof, all very recognizable names within the science fiction genre of movies and television.

Even beyond the complicated and heavily-debated finale of "Lost," the series has led to many discussions and arguments over things like who is the best character, what episodes are the best, and of course, which couple takes the top spot. There are certainly a lot of great options to choose from including Kate and Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and Shannon (Maggie Grace), and the list goes on and on.

According to a poll, there appears to be only one clear answer.

Fans of Lost think Claire and Charlie are the best couple

At the beginning of the ABC sci-fi show, "Lost" introduces viewers to the humble yet charming Charlie, played by Dominic Monaghan, and a heavily-pregnant, kind young woman named Claire, played by Emilie de Ravin, two characters with troubled backstories who are drawn together. In a poll that pitted Claire and Charlie against Shannon and Boone for best couple, the former came out with 97% of the vote. Although the poll didn't take into account other fan-favorite couples on "Lost," Charlie and Claire's romance would probably take the top spot every time.

Unlike the big hero Jack or the brawny Sawyer, Charlie is one of the most relatable characters on "Lost," as a young man who finds love and a second chance on the deserted island. As for Claire, she is on the flight to Los Angeles to give her child up for adoption, but instead she finds herself about to face the responsibility of raising a baby on an island with very little resources and allies. Claire and Charlie meet early on and develop a close relationship. They are each other's support system, and their sweet romance quickly became a favorite of fans.

From eating imaginary peanut butter to raising Claire's son Aaron together, Claire and Charlie's relationship on "Lost" is sweet and earnest. Unfortunately, it comes to an end when Charlie sacrifices himself to help the group, facing his prophesied death in Season 3's finale, "Through the Looking Glass." In the sad yet memorable scene, Charlie uses his last few moments to deliver an important message to Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) — "Not Penny's boat." Claire is devastated to learn about Charlie's death, but the two are eventually reunited in the flash-sideways in the "Lost" series finale.
