PAW Patrol: The Movie - What We Know So Far

They're small. They're fuzzy. They're the only thing stopping Adventure City from falling into total chaos. They're PAW Patrol!

The Nick Jr. series follows a group of dogs, each of which has specific skills as an aviation pilot, firefighter, and more. They hit the town in their "pupmobiles" to go on various missions. Whenever someone yelps for help, you can be certain Ryder and the gang will be there to lend a paw.

With such a massive audience, it should come as no surprise that the pups in uniform are about to hit the big screen. "PAW Patrol: The Movie" is part of Paramount's massive movie lineup coming up in 2021, and parents of toddlers everywhere should be prepared to take their kids to see what high-flying adventures the doggies get into next. With a celebrity-filled voice cast and more pups thrown into the mix, here's everything you need to know about the upcoming "PAW Patrol: The Movie."

What's the release date for PAW Patrol: The Movie?

"Paw PATROL: The Movie" is slated to come out in theaters on August 20, 2021. The past year has seen a lot of change-ups in terms of film release dates, but this one should stick. Plus, in the event you and/or your family won't feel comfortable going to a movie theater with the COVID-19 pandemic still around, there's another way you'll be able to watch it from the safety of your home shortly thereafter.

"PAW Patrol: The Movie" is part of the new initiative from Paramount Pictures to release films theatrically for 45 days before sending them directly to Paramount+. That means if you don't want to watch the movie in theaters, you can watch it in early October, provided you have a Paramount+ subscription. It costs $9.99 a month to get no commercials, or you can sign up for a one-month free trial around October to check out the newest film for free.

Who's in the cast for PAW Patrol: The Movie?

The voice cast for "PAW Patrol: The Movie" includes the main voice actors from the television series, including Beckett Hipkiss as Ryder, Lilly Bartlam as Skye, Kingsley Marshall as Marshall, Shayle Simons as Zuma, and Ron Pardo as Mayor Humdinger. However, you can't have a feature film of a popular children's cartoon without having a copious quantity of celebrity cameos, and there are a ton of recognizable names entering the picture to pay a visit to Adventure City.

Most notably, Kim Kardashian West will be part of the proceedings, voicing a poodle named Delores. She tweeted about her involvement in the film back in October 2020 with the statement, "I'm officially cool mom now to my kids! Paw Patrol We're On A Roll!!!" Other famous voices you can expect to hear include Tyler Perry, Dax Shepard, Randall Park, Jimmy Kimmel, Yara Shahidi, and Marsai Martin.

What's the plot of PAW Patrol: The Movie?

The official synopsis for the movie listed on IMDb goes as follows: "Ryder and the pups are called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos." Throughout the series, Mayor Humdinger has served as the primary antagonist to the titular dogs, and it looks like he's up to his old, no-good tricks in their feature film debut. There's no word yet on what his nefarious scheme entails, but it must be pretty big if it's going to fit 88 minutes as opposed to only 11.

An exclusive teaser trailer for the upcoming film was shown during the 2021 Kids' Choice Awards where kids and adults alike could get a taste of what Adventure City has in store this time around. From a big rig gone off the rails to a new treat dispenser, the pups definitely have their paws full for what's bound to be their biggest excursion yet.
