Exclusive Clip: Stabler Gets Justice In Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 1, Episode 6

Contains spoilers for "Law & Order: Organized Crime"

From the moment NBC announced "Law & Order: Organized Crime," a spin-off of both the flagship "Law & Order" series and its offshoot show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," fans readied themselves for a roller coaster ride. Co-created by Dick Wolf, Ilene Chaiken, and Matt Olmstead, "Organized Crime" started off with a bang in its premiere episode, which hit airwaves on April 1, 2021. This new series sees Detective Elliot Stabler (fan-favorite star Christopher Meloni) working in New York following a years-long hiatus, serving on the Organized Crime Control Bureau. The elite squad's goal: take down "the city's most powerful crime syndicates one by one" (via NBC.com). Stabler's personal goal: find those responsible for the death of his wife Kathy (played by Isabel Gillies in "SVU").

In the fifth and most recent episode of "Law & Order: Organized Crime," entitled "An Inferior Product," Stabler makes a shocking discovery. Izak Bekher (Ibrahim Renno) tells him that Professor Angela Wheatley (Tamara Taylor) is one of the people behind the car-bomb hit that killed Kathy Stabler. The series' sixth episode — airing on NBC tonight, May 20 — finds Stabler getting justice.

Ahead of the episode's debut, Looper is excited to share an exclusive clip featuring Stabler and Angela.

Stabler's sneaky tactic

"Law & Order" enthusiasts know that Detective Elliot Stabler has a certain way of doing things, and organizing the arrest of a woman partially responsible for his wife's murder calls for an extra-sharp plan. He isn't about to break down Angela's door and send police officers storming in to put Angela in handcuffs. No, Stabler is going to do something much smarter. He makes Angela believe that the two of them are going to have a romantic dinner together. When he arrives at her door, Angela greets Stabler with a smile — one that quickly falls when Stabler utters the words he's been waiting to say: "Cuff her."

Elsewhere in the new episode of "Organized Crime," aptly entitled "I Got This Rat," Richie, the son of Angela and the duplicitous Richard Wheatley (Dylan McDermott), further entrenches himself in his family's business — which isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

"Law & Order: Organized Crime" Season 1, Episode 6, "I Got This Rat," airs tonight at 10 PM ET on NBC.
