The Librarians was a big cult hit for TNT
"The Librarians" first aired on TNT in 2014. It focuses on a secret society dedicated to protecting magical, rare, and dangerous artifacts, opening up a world of knowledge to the general public as they used the items in a positive way. The Library itself is housed in a pocket universe with several entrances from the street-level world outside, including the New York Public Library and the Library of Alexandria.
The series follows Colonel Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), a member of a NATO anti-terrorism force, as she becomes a Guardian. Guardians are destined to lead potential Librarians through their training and protect the Library at large. Also along for the ride are three Librarians in training with great potential – the innocent Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth), who's got a great mind for math and magical abilities; Jacob Stone (Christian Kane), a linguistic polymath jack-of-all-trades and part-time rogue; and Ezekiel Jones (John Harlan Kim), a highly-skilled thief. Each of the trainee librarians had just as much potential as Flynn Carsen (Wyle) and were invited to interview for his position as curator, but they did not attend their interviews. Baird becomes Guardian for all three of the new Librarians and, with the help of the immortal Jenkins (John Larroquette), who guards the Library's annex, they set about trotting the globe – rewriting history, battling evil, recovering artifacts, and becoming a team.
TNT canceled "The Librarians" in 2018, but it was popular enough to spawn several tie-in novels from Macmillan. Now, the curious can binge the whole show on Hulu at their leisure.
