New Shang-Chi Trailer Is Sending Marvel Fans Into A Meltdown
September can't seem to get here fast enough for MCU fans, as that's when "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is set to premiere. With this being the first film to officially kick off Marvel's Phase 4 of movies story-wise, as well as the first MCU project to star an Asian protagonist, a lot is riding on "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." Fortunately, by the looks of the action-packed second trailer, "Shang-Chi" appears primed to become Marvel's next hit and could make the hero a household name much like the first "Iron Man" movie did for Tony Stark.
The movie stars Simu Liu as the titular hero, who has spent much of his childhood training to become an assassin under his father Wenwu, played by Tony Leung. As much as Shang-Chi has tried to transition into a new life as an adult, it appears the evil legacy and influence of his father still lingers. The second trailer shows off some dazzling fight scenes as well as the central conflict between Shang-Chi and his father with the terrorist organization Ten Rings. And was that the superpowered villain Abomination we spotted in a cage fight?
What's for sure is that the new trailer has MCU fans ablaze with excitement.
MCU fans are even more hyped about Shang-Chi than before
Immediately after the new trailer dropped, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over the upcoming movie. "”Is this what you wanted?!” Giving me Black Panther vibe. A tribute to our King and the new music is pretty dope. Beautiful Visuals and a lot to learn from the Ten Rings history... Can't Wait!!" wrote user @JohnTran101.
Twitter user @bellbegins might need a moment to calm down, given that they quipped, "GUYS LET ME BREATH [sic] FIRST." And @ScatterBrainUK is more than ready for the movie, as they gushed, "Okay, I'm even more hyped than I already was. Can't wait to see this whole new side of the mcu."
While the anticipation for the movie overall has climbed, what really has fans in a tizzy is the cameo at the end of the trailer — it appears to mark the surprise appearance of "Incredible Hulk" villain Abomination. "The real reason why a lot of us are here LOLL. Why does this cage fight between Abomination & Wong seem more interesting...& What the hell is going on?" wrote @UrbanNoize2. However, some fans like @JaylenMark3 are just happy that Abomination looks more accurate this time compared to his first appearance in the 2008 film "The Incredible Hulk." "My boy finally has the comic book treatment," they noted.
We're not too far off from the September 3 release of "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." But while we patiently wait, MCU fans definitely know they have even more reason to look forward to the movie.
