Spider-Man: No Way Home Toys Reveal Multiple New Spidey Suits

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" will swing into theaters later this year, and fans have been trying to figure out what will happen in the film. Marvel still hasn't released a trailer or much in the way of information, suggesting that the company wants to keep most of its surprises close to the vest until closer to the release date. However, it's certain that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will have to contend with his identity being revealed to the world following the mid-credits sequence in "Spider-Man: Far from Home."

Elsewhere, multiple characters from various timelines and universes are projected to make an appearance in the sequel, with the worlds of previous "Spider-Man" movies set to converge. With the Multiverse set to play a huge part in Marvel's fourth phase, anything is possible. That said, the lack of clues thus far has been frustrating, though recent developments in the toy world may have provided some significant breadcrumbs to follow.

Could a Black-and-gold Spidey Show Up in Spider-Man: No Way Home?

The "Spider-Man: No Way Home" LEGO sets tease some of Spider-Man's most notable foes returning in the movie, so Peter and his comrades will have their work cut for them. However, as Marvel points out, there are a host of other figures being released — from Funkos to Nerf — and they raise some interesting questions. Some of the toys are updated versions of traditional Spideys, but some of them appear to be deep cuts that will appeal to the nerds in the back.

One of the standout figures is Spidey in a black-and-gold costume, which is reminiscent of an unlockable suit in the "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" video game. As VG247 notes, the game's costume was a tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement, though it remains to be seen if it will have the same meaning in the film — if it's even featured at all. Will a black-and-gold variant of Morales help some other Spideys find their way home? It's possible.

Of course, it's worth bearing in mind that toys and movies aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. As of this writing, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is rooted in mystery, but the various toys and rumors suggest that the movie will feature a wide array of characters from Spidey's rich history.
