Logan Almost Featured A Few Scenes With Sabretooth
In Logan, Wolverine could use all the help he can get, and it almost came from one of his best frenemies.
Screenwriter Scott Frank told CinemaBlend that there were talks of bringing back Sabretooth, played by Liev Schreiber in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
"There was a moment when we were thinking about [it]," said Frank. "As I recall, Jim [Mangold] had an idea where when they were on the run, and they go to the gambling town, there may have been at that point they were going to see [Sabretooth] for help. He was going to be there for help. Now that you mention it! I wouldn't swear to it, but we thought that would have been an interesting thing to do. And then for whatever reason we didn't do it."
While it may have been fun to see a little closure between Logan and Sabretooth, the movie takes place in a world where mutants are nearly extinct, and Mangold and Frank reportedly made a conscious decision to keep the number of mutants featured in check. But the character's omission could have come down to something as simple as scheduling conflicts or script trimming.
Either way, critics and fans are nearly unanimous in their praise for Logan. Meanwhile, check out every Wolverine movie ranked from worst to best, and the ending of Logan explained.
