Cobra Kai Fans Just Got Huge News About Season 4

"Cobra Kai" fans have a big reason to be excited right now.

Set 24 years after the events of the classic 1984 film "The Karate Kid," the spinoff series reignites the rivalry between Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), as both try to step back into the world of martial arts and train the next generation of karate kids. The younger characters include Daniel's daughter Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser), Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña), and Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan), while Daniel's wife Amanda LaRusso (Courtney Henggeler) rounds out the main cast.

Originally launched on YouTube Red in 2018, "Cobra Kai" moved to Netflix as its new home before Season 3, and the popular show was renewed for a fourth season before the third even premiered on January 1, 2021. In Season 3, Daniel and Johnny unite their students to face off against the new Cobra Kai dojo, led by the antagonistic John Kreese (Martin Kove) from the original films. As expected, the third season of "Cobra Kai" did amazingly well with audiences and critics, earning a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it wasn't long before all people could talk about was when Season 4 would finally hit the streaming platform.

Luckily for "Cobra Kai" fans, we now have an answer, as Netflix just released a new teaser revealing that Season 4 is arriving in December 2021.

The ultimate fight for the Valley is on

"The soul of the Valley is on the line." This is the main message of the new teaser, hyping up the upcoming All Valley Karate Tournament that will have Johnny, Daniel, and Kreese's students all facing off to win the title of Champion. It's a short clip that showcases a bunch of the characters dressed up in karate gear and readying up for the fight, including Miguel, Samantha, Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz (Jacob Bertrand), Tory Nichols (Peyton List), and even Johnny and Daniel.

While the new trailer doesn't mention this, Netflix also teased the return of another classic "Karate Kid" character in a clip released back in May 2021, revealing that Terry Silver, the main antagonist of "The Karate Kid Part III," will be returning to create chaos in Season 4. The original actor, Thomas Ian Griffith, is coming back to reprise his role as the close friend of Kreese, having served with him in the military. Considering that the May teaser ends with the words "Now the real pain begins," we can guess that Silver will bring quite a lot of trouble for Johnny, Daniel and the others.

Fans of "Cobra Kai" hoped that the fourth season was on its way when Kove revealed that they had finished filming Season 4 at the end of April 2021, but given how much productions have been challenged this past year, it was hard to get their hopes up that the series would return quickly. Thankfully, Netflix knows how popular the action series is, and now people can put "Cobra Kai" Season 4's release on their calendars and start preparing to binge the new episodes.
