The New Cobra Kai Season 4 Images Have Spawned A Wild Fan Theory
"Cobra Kai" fans are ready to crane kick their way into the series' fourth season, and with new teasers and promos being released on a more regular basis, their fervor's reaching an all-time high.
Since the show was picked up by Netflix after beginning its life as a Youtube Premium exclusive and staying there for two seasons, "Cobra Kai" has been exposed to an even larger audience. That means more fan speculation, as well as more fans beating the drums of anticipation ahead of the new batch of episodes' release. Can you hear it? On Reddit, it's deafening.
The folks who visit the "Cobra Kai" subreddit have some ... very elaborate ideas about where things are headed. One fan was even inspired to post a surprisingly developed fantasy plotline for the fourth season, and it's a bit of an eyebrow raiser. So what does this wild fan theory posit? And how likely is it that anything close to this will come to pass? See for yourself.
This fan thinks Sid might not be too long for this world
u/bigfuhdge has a theory about Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) stepfather Sid Weinberg (Ed Asner) — and it doesn't bode well for Sid.
Noting that a younger version of Johnny has been cast to presumably appear in flashbacks, u/bigfuhdge suggests that Sid will die this season. "I'm predicting flashbacks and that [S]id did in fact care for [Johnny] to some degree, however he won't be redeemed like other characters, or redeemed at all really."
With Sid's death would come wealth for Johnny, which u/bigfuhdge suggests he would use to buy a large house somewhere in the San Fernando Valley for Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) and his mom Carmen (Vanessa Rubio), whom Johnny is dating. That would amp up the tension between Miguel and Robby (Tanner Buchanan), Johnny's son and Daniel Larusso's (Ralph Macchio) student, naturally.
u/bigfuhdge's ultimate resolution to the drama that would inevitably ensue would be for all parties to live near each other in the Valley, with Johnny splitting custody of his son with his ex, Shannon Keene (Diora Baird). Thus would bitterness ultimately be soothed by family togetherness. Aww.
Too pat for "Cobra Kai"? Probably, but kudos to this fan for thoroughness.
"Cobra Kai" will hit Netflix in December 2021.
