Woody From Suite Life On Deck Is Unrecognizable Now

Creators Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan left their mark on an entire generation of young TV viewers when they debuted "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" in 2005. The Disney Channel original series centered on Zack (Dylan Sprouse) and Cody Martin (Cole Sprouse) and their constant shenanigans at the prestigious Tipton Hotel. Their antics roped in the hotel's uptight manager Mr. Moseby (Phil Lewis), the daughter of the hotel's owner, London Tipton (Brenda Song), the bellhop Esteban Julió Ricardo Montoya de la Rosa Ramírez (Adrian R'Mante), and others — keeping viewers coming back for more week after week.

"The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" wrapped up by 2008 after just three seasons, but the titular twins weren't done on the small screen just yet. Soon enough, "The Suite Life on Deck" hit the airwaves and put all of our favorite characters on the deck of the SS Tipton, accompanied by a handful of fresh faces. One of the most noteworthy was Woody Fink, a recurring name who popped in and out of the show throughout its three-season run. Actor Matthew Timmons was selected to bring the role to life, and considering how memorable Woody turned out to be, he was certainly the right choice.

As of this writing, 10 years have passed since "The Suite Life on Deck" bid fans goodbye, and its players have all gone their separate ways. That includes Timmons, who looks nothing like he did during his time as Woody and is spending his days much differently.

Matthew Timmons' transformation set the internet ablaze

When put up against the majority of his "Suite Life on Deck" castmates, Matthew Timmons certainly stood out from the pack. His thick-rimmed glasses, curly, bushy hair, and larger frame made him a unique addition to the show and certainly cut a one-of-a-kind silhouette for Woody Fink. This allowed both the actor and the character to stick in fans' minds in the years that followed but made Timmons' drastic physical transformation all the more jarring to handle. To put it simply, he looks like a completely different person.

In recent years, Timmons has clearly taken massive strides to leave Woody in the past. He got his hair under control in February 2017 (via Pop Buzz) and is sporting a slight amount of facial hair, having dropped a significant amount of weight as well. As one could imagine, the "Suite Life" viewer base has grown up and is all over the social media world, resulting in a collective frenzy when they caught wind of his new look.

@lyssdavidson on Twitter wrote "So like when did woody fink get hot and what he eating to glo up like this" in 2017. That same year, @classytaeh added, "this is the before and after of the guy who played Woody Fink in "Zack and Cody suite life on deck why can't puberty do any good on me?" along with a few pictures for comparison. Though these remarks aren't exactly recent, that fact makes Matthew Timmons' life changes no less impressive.

Timmons wants to use his life experiences to help others

Matthew Timmons' bodily changes have left fans of "The Suite Life on Deck" understandably shocked. After all, he's now a far cry from his Woody Fink persona, which many people apply as their mind's eye image of the young actor. However, for as strong as the online reactions have been, Timmons' transformation has undeniably had the greatest impact on him — specifically when it comes to his incredible weight loss. In fact, he has made it known that he wants to share his experiences to motivate others dealing with similar issues.

"At my heaviest, I was 300lbs. I hated myself and hid behind comedy by playing 'big' characters with 'big' personalities," Timmons wrote in a January 2019 Instagram post, explaining to his followers that his talent — not his weight –  is what really made him a successful comedic actor. He goes on to reveal that he has made a lot of positive changes in his life, but there's still plenty for him to work on in the coming years. Nevertheless, he's happy to tell his story and remind us all that "You're not alone, and it's all types of people who struggle with these things."

Timmons' filmography has grown stagnant

Having put Woody Fink behind him in more ways than one, you would think that Matthew Timmons has gone on to bigger and better projects outside of the "Suite Life" canon, right? Not exactly, seeing as he hasn't put his acting skills to use since 2013 during the third season of the Disney Channel favorite "Jessie." There he played Max Bauer in the episode "Caught Purple Handed," which turned out to be his only appearance on the show. From there, he seemingly bid the entertainment world farewell for good.

Given that he's not even in his 30s yet, Timmons could realistically make a return to acting someday, but nothing is set in stone as of right now. Although, if he did opt to permanently retire from that line of work, the projects he did end up taking part in are nothing to be ashamed of. As noted previously, "The Suite Life on Deck" was his big break, but his first time taking on the Woody Fink character actually came in 2007's "Yay Me! Starring London Tipton." This, coupled with his run on the "Suite Life" series, earned him a spot in 2011's "The Suite Life Movie" — his only feature film to date.

Matthew Timmons is all over social media

So, if he's not acting much at all anymore, what is Matthew Timmons up to these days? Well, for anyone curious about what the former Woody Fink is doing, you can certainly check out his social media accounts. As far as Twitter goes, he hasn't tweeted in a while — since February 12, 2021, to be exact — but he's still liking other posts and likely swiping through his feed regularly. His handle is @MattTimmons for those interested in giving him a follow.

Meanwhile, the same can also be said for his Instagram account, @matttimmons. At the time of this publication, his latest post is dated October of 2020, but even still, it couldn't hurt to check out his feed if you'd like an update on the once-prolific Disney Channel face. Among his numerous selfies and professionally done portraits, there are a handful of shots detailing his adventures everywhere from the gym to Paris, France, and heartfelt captions about his personal life and family.

If nothing else, Matthew Timmons' social media profiles are insightful glimpses into the former child actor's modern routine.

Matthew Timmons has become a fashion icon

Speaking of Matthew Timmons' social media presence, it doesn't take you long to notice that he has developed his own fashion sense over the years. Of the outfits shown off on his Instagram page, it's almost as if no two of them are alike, nor are they hastily thrown together at the last minute. Therefore, it wouldn't be inappropriate to call Timmons something of a fashion icon, especially considering his partnership with Lululemon that began in the Fall of 2020.

Timmons announced the short-term collaboration via Instagram, commending the apparel brand and mentioning that "2020 said we need comfy & feel good about yourself vibes and @lululemon listened." Whether or not he's still working with Lululemon isn't known, but even if they didn't keep him around for the long haul, surely he'll team up with another company sooner rather than later. He has a keen eye for fashion and is eager to share it with the world.

For numerous people across the globe, Matthew Timmons will always be Woody Fink. Though he may not look like his "Suite Life" alter-ego anymore, and he isn't going out of his way to land movie and TV gigs, he seems genuinely happy with the way his life is going. At the end of the day, that's what matters most.
