Princess Ahmanet Is Watching In New The Mummy Poster
Tom Cruise needs to turn around in the newest poster for The Mummy.
The creepy photo, which you can view at the bottom of this story, shows Cruise standing in the center as Princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) creepily looms over him. At the bottom of the poster is a burning city, likely representing the chaos the villainess will unleash on the world.
Ahmanet is a princess who was promised a role as pharaoh, only to have it all ripped away from her. After being left entombed in a crypt in the desert for hundreds of years, Ahmanet is awaken, leading her to set out on a quest to change the world back into what it was when she was alive. Cruise plays a Navy SEAL who discovers the tomb and realizes that his life has a special connection to Ahmanet's.
The reboot is intended to launch a classic horror movie cinematic universe for Universal, with Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll potentially tying it all together. Javier Bardem will at some point play Frankenstein, while Johnny Depp will play the Invisible Man in future films.
Annabelle Wallis, Courtney B. Vance, and Jake Johnson also star in The Mummy, which will scare its way into theaters on June 9. In the meantime, watch the trailer above and read up on some of the future remakes and reboots we're looking forward to.
