The Funniest American Horror Story Character According To Fans

With a name like "American Horror Story," unassuming TV viewers might think the anthology series is all about the scares. However, the show, which comes from the minds of producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, is filled to the brim with deadpan humor and sarcasm. Many would call it camp, though, Murphy has made his reservations about applying that term to his work clear (via The New Yorker). While it's not as funny as some of Murphy and Falchuk's other collaborations, like "Glee" and "Scream Queens," there's no denying that the show's comedic moments are an integral part of it.

With that in mind, fans on the "American Horror Story" subreddit were recently asked to vote on the show's funniest character. The poll by u/Pitiful-Sandwich-842 included notable "American Horror Story" characters like Jeff Pfister (Evan Peters) from "Apocalypse," Audrey Tindall (Sarah Paulson) from "Roanoke," James March (Evan Peters) from "Hotel," Meadow Wilton (Leslie Grossman) from "Cult," Mr. Gallant (Evan Peters) from "Apocalypse," and Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy) from "Coven."

So, which "American Horror Story" character did fans determine was the funniest?

Don't be a hater, dear

It was the Head of the Witches' Council, Myrtle Snow, who claimed the title of the funniest "American Horror Story" character in the Reddit poll by securing 167 of its 397 total votes. In fact, it was a bit of a landslide victory for the character, with Evan Peters' James March placing second with 125 votes. Meanwhile, in addition to the poll, "American Horror Story" fans also took the thread's comments section to express their love for Myrtle.

"Myrtle Snow is the most iconic character from the show in my opinion," wrote u/LeviiSamiss. "She has so many quotable lines." Other fans chimed in with their favorite "Coven" and "Apocalypse" quotes, and Myrtle's famous last words were among the most noteworthy. "If Myrtle doesn't win, I will be APOPLECTIC," added u/OnHodl, borrowing the character's favorite word to describe her rage. The Redditor also edited their comment to add Liz Taylor (Denis O'Hare) as an honorable mention for the poll. Elsewhere, some users shared funny quotes from characters like March and Audrey Tindall, while others suggested who else should've been included in the poll. u/a-ma-ri, for instance, responded to the poll's central question by writing, "It was cricket," to which the thread's OP replied, "no bc ur right."

Previous threads on the subreddit have, notably, celebrated Leslie Jordan's Cricket as one of the funniest characters on "American Horror Story." In this poll, however, it was Myrtle Snow who reigned supreme.
