Money Heist Season 5 Part 2 Release Date, Cast, And Plot - What We Know So Far
It's a miracle that "Money Heist" has made it this far, but we can thank the power of streaming for that. The show, which revolves around a team of bank robbers, originally aired on Spanish terrestrial television and almost faced the ax due to ever-changing time slots and a dwindling viewership. After being picked up by Netflix, though, "Money Heist" turned into an international phenomenon and the rest is history.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Season 5 marks the final installment of "Money Heist," and the second half of the series is almost upon us. It's been an explosive ride thus far, too, treating viewers to plenty of shootouts, dramatic cliffhangers, and one of the most shocking character deaths in recent memory.
With the next batch of episodes set to air in the near future, "Money Heist" fans are gearing up for some high-stakes action and a few more tearjerker moments. Anything can happen, and there will undoubtedly be some huge surprises in store. But what can they expect from the final episodes in "Money Heist" Season 5?
When can viewers watch Money Heist Season 5 Part 2?
Most "Money Heist" fans will agree that the first five episodes, which aired in early September, weren't enough to keep them going. Split seasons are generally frustrating when you just want to binge-watch an entire season over the course of a weekend. However, the good news is that the wait is finally almost over. According to Netflix (via Twitter), the second part of "Money Heist" Season 5 will be available to view on December 3, 2021.
If this were any other show, the wait could have been longer. As Fansided points out, it's actually something of a surprise that viewers will get to see more "Money Heist" in 2021 as Netflix has a tendency to keep subscribers waiting closer to a year for new episodes, much of the time. That said, while waiting is frustrating, the three-month hiatus will help build some anticipation for what's sure to be a nail-biting conclusion to the epic crime saga.
Who's in Money Heist Season 5 Part 2?
"Money Heist" viewers were left devastated following the death of Tokyo in the most recent episode. That doesn't mean that she won't return in some way, though. The show has brought back some deceased characters in the form of flashback sequences in the past, so it's incredibly possible that actor Úrsula Corberó will make more appearances. It also remains to be seen if Corberó will continue to narrate the series now that her character is grave-bound.
Álvaro Morte, who plays the Professor, will also return and probably serve as the biggest focal point in the series moving forward in Tokyo's absence. That means Najwa Nimri will reprise her role as Alicia Sierra as well, as her character's story is heavily linked with the Professor's right now.
Elsewhere, series stalwarts such as Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Darko Peric, Belén Cuesta and Hovik Keuchkerian will return to see their characters' stories through to the end. Of course, it's highly unlikely that all of their on-screen personas will survive until the final episode.
What is Money Heist Season 5 Part 2 all about?
The final episodes of Season 5 are shaping up to be a fight for survival for the gang. The last time we saw the heist members, they were trapped in the Bank of Spain and fighting against the army, which was sent in by Luis Tamayo (Fernando Cayo) to end their mission. At this current time, it doesn't look good for them.
The Professor has become the gang's last hope, but he also has the pressing issue of Alicia to deal with first. Their relationship is complicated and she might decide to show some mercy to the criminal mastermind. Then again, she is still a detective at the end of the day.
Naturally, "Money Heist" creator Alex Pina has been tight-lipped about the next chapter of the crime saga. However, he did promise a character-driven story in an official statement (per Digital Spy). "In volume [two], we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure."
