Chris Pine Pokes Fun At Chris Evans, Hemsworth, And Pratt In SNL Monologue
It can be pretty difficult to keep track of the famous guys named Chris, but Chris Pine is here to clear the air and crack a few jokes along the way.
Pine recently stepped onto the Saturday Night Live stage, in his first time hosting, to deliver a tongue-in-cheek monologue that had the studio audience and superhero film fans at home giggling in their seats. The Star Trek and Wonder Woman actor took a playful stab at his fellow Chrises—Captain America heartthrob Chris Evans, Thor star Chris Hemsworth, and Guardians of the Galaxy frontman Chris Pratt—and the countless people who get them all mixed up.
"As many of you know, I have a movie coming out this weekend. It's called Guardians of the Galaxy," Pine said before leaning into the bit. "See? I knew that was going to happen. I'm not in Guardians of the Galaxy. That is Chris Pratt. I am Chris Pine."
Pine invited SNL funnywoman Leslie Jones out to vouch for him, since she has apparently seen all of Pine's movies. However, the Chris jokes continued when Jones mistook Pine for Evans. "You're Captain America, Chris Evans," she said. And when Pine attempted to clarify his identity, Jones countered, "Hemsworth? That's good enough... thank you, Thor!"
Fed up (but only in jest) at the constant confusion, Pine put his foot down. "Okay, you know what? I'm gonna settle this once and for all, right now. Will you bring out the poster I shipped in?" Pine asked. An SNL crew member then brought out a giant poster featuring the four Chrises, all white-skinned with brown hair and slightly stubbled facial hair, standing side by side.
Of course, this just complicated things even more, since the actors look eerily similar. Pine then belted out a hilarious parody song called "I'm Not That Chris," sung to the tune of Billy Joel's hit single "Uptown Girl" to resolve the mix-ups.
"I'm not that Chris. I look just like him, but I'm not that Chris. Not Pratt or Hemsworth. I'm a different guy. Not Evans either. Look, I'm my own cool vibe," Pine sang before poking more fun at the four actors' sameness. "We're all white guys, but these aren't the white guys I am... [I'm a] different Chris!"

While it's probably frustrating to be misidentified so often, Pine definitely appears to have a great attitude about the Chris confusion. Pine will appear alongside Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman (and definitely not Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), the Patty Jenkins-directed flick set for release on June 2.
