Twitter Is Swooning Over Chris Evan's Post About The Office
It's always a thrill to find out that the stars are just like us. On October 23, Chris Evans aka Captain America himself revealed that he too takes part in one of the simplest joys of the average person: binge-watching "The Office." The MCU star tweeted, "When Jim and Pam are having an off day but at the end of the episode they're both leaving each other messages talking about the same things. Good stuff." Good stuff, indeed, Chris.
In his tweet, Evans is referring to the Season 5 episode "Baby Shower," which features a storyline about Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) having trouble getting on the same page communication-wise while Pam is away studying at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. The end of the episode, though, proves that whatever issue they are having is minor in the grand scheme of their romance. A scene shows both characters calling each other at the exact same time and leaving voicemail messages that sync up perfectly.
Fans were overjoyed to see Evans take his "The Office" love to social media. As @dannieros3 said in a reply to the actor's original tweet, "Finding out Chris is a fan of The Office is the most unexpected, yet best part of my day so far."
Here's what else fans were saying.
Fans were excited to learn that Chris Evans watches The Office
While your average Twitter user's musing on "The Office" might get a smattering of likes and replies, when Chris Evans posts about the show, he gets tens of thousands of reactions and responses. For most of the people responding to his Jim and Pam appreciation post, they seemed to just be excited to find out, as @twenty_one_lads put it, "omg bestie is an office stan."
User @Kyla61379929 had a similar reaction. They tweeted, "Yesss you watch the office ... and I thought u couldn't get any cooler." Meanwhile, @surabhi17824 was buzzing about the reveal even though they know it shouldn't be that much of a surprise. "Why am I freaking out over this when the office is literally such a popular show," they mused.
Many fans saw Evans' "The Office" love as their chance to connect with the dreamy movie star. "The fact that you watch this show just makes everything soooo much better! I can be your Pam if you'd like," tweeted @emmie_358. User @cakesntae531, meanwhile, decided to skip right to the wedding day. They wrote, "I totally read this as we should get married and watch the office together... I dunno... that's what I read though."
But for @nhlbrooke, Evans' tweet revealed something a bit simpler: his cable viewing habits. They wrote in to say, "lol were you also watching the office marathon this morning."
It just goes to show there are few divides that "The Office" can't bridge.
