Melissa McCarthy Sings 'I Feel Pretty' As Sean Spicer In SNL Promo
Sean Spicer feels very, very pretty in a new Saturday Night Live promo. Host Melissa McCarthy revived her popular impression of the White House press secretary for the clip, which previews her outing this weekend alongside musical guest HAIM.
McCarthy will be just the fifth woman to join SNL's five-timers club (currently featuring Drew Barrymore, Candice Bergen, Scarlett Johansson, and Tina Fey) when she hosts on Saturday, although the actress has been a frequent feature this season with her impression of "Spice-y." With the hiding *among* the bushes political craziness of this week, it only makes sense that McCarthy would bring back the fan-favorite character for her time as host.
The promo starts with McCarthy as herself walking through the hallways of 30 Rock lip syncing to "I Feel Pretty," from the musical West Side Story. She winds up in the make-up room, where the show's artists transform her into Spicer, who then begins to prance through the show's set as he dances to the tune.
McCarthy's episode will mark just the third time in its long history that SNL has aired live coast-to-coast, with buzzy sketches like her Sean Spicer impressions being part of the reason that the show decided to stop snubbing Californians and allow them to watch without a time delay. The episode airs on Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC; while we wait, see the untold truth of SNL.
