This Is The Best Key According To Locke & Key Fans
With new shows arriving on a seemingly daily basis, it's all too easy to lose track of even your favorite Netflix offerings these days. But if there's one series in the streamer's vast library of originals that feels like it has been unfairly lost in the mix, it's the genre-smashing fantasy show "Locke & Key." Based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, "Locke & Key" made its Netflix debut in early 2020 and tells the story of the Locke family, who move into a mysterious ancestral home after the death of their father.
Once there, the Locke kids (played by Emilia Jones, Connor Jessup, and Jackson Roberts Scott) discover that the aptly named Keyhouse contains stores of magical keys that open portals to other dimensions and grant their users special powers. Season 1 of the series sees the Locke family struggling to make sense of the new magical elements in their lives, and largely being outwitted by the nefarious Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira), who has sinister plans for the magical keys.
The new season of "Locke & Key" recently made its way to Netflix, and brought with it new twists, forms of magic, and characters. It introduced a bunch of new keys to the show too, which has inspired fans on Reddit to ponder which of the series' keys they'd most want to wield.
Locke & Key fans would love to get their hands on the Anywhere Key
If you're wondering how fans determined which of the keys on "Locke & Key" is the most appealing of them all, you probably won't be surprised to learn that they did it with a Reddit poll, which saw the thread's creator singling out six of their own favorite keys before turning matters over to voters. Said voters quickly put the Anywhere Key at the top of the list, and did so by a wide margin. Indeed, the Anywhere Key earned 156 of the total 246 votes cast, while the Head Key placed a distant second with just 46 votes.
That's not all that shocking, of course, as the Anywhere Key does exactly what its name proclaims and transports its wielders anywhere in the world they want to go. Who wouldn't want that power?
The key first appeared in "Locke & Key" Season 1, with the youngest Locke sibling, Bode (Jackson Roberts Scott), using its power to instantly travel to a local ice cream shop. In the episodes since then, all of the Locke kids have held the prized key, though, by Season 1's end it was in the hands of Dodge, who used it to escape her Wellhouse captivity and travel the world performing various sinister acts.
Predictably, the coveted Anywhere Key continued to change possession in Season 2 of "Locke & Key." If you've already binged the season, you'll even know that it played a vital role in the show's ever-twisting narrative, and there's little doubt it'll continue to do so moving forward.
