Shamier Anderson Talks John Wick 4 And Confirms What We Suspected All Along About Keanu Reeves - Exclusive

In 2014, not many people would have predicted that a relatively unassuming action film starring an actor, who'd recently had a modest run making unassuming action films, would turn into the genre's premiere franchise. Here we are seven years later, and the "John Wick" series is prepping its fourth installment, with leading man Keanu Reeves firmly established as not only the Internet's favorite Hollywood person, but also a born-again bona fide box office force. The increasingly convoluted story of the world's most animal-friendly assassin has been a big hit for Reeves, but it's also swept up no shortage of other names in its cinematic wake, including the likes of Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Anjelica Huston.

One of the latest entries into the "John Wick" universe is actor Shamier Anderson. He cut his teeth mostly on TV, where he's appeared in extended runs on "Wynonna Earp" and "Goliath." Currently, he's starring on the appropriately-titled Apple TV+ alien invasion series "Invasion," taking on the role of a Navy SEAL who finds himself stranded far from home when the extraterrestrial stuff hits the fan.

We recently caught up with Anderson to chat about "Invasion" and, in the process, talked a bit about "John Wick 4" and whether the rumors about Keanu Reeves are true.

Shamier Anderson on Keanu Reeves, niceness champion

If you needed any confirmation that Anderson is psyched to be making his entry into the mega-successful "John Wick" franchise, the actor is eager to offer it up. "I'm in Paris filming it now," he enthused. "It's ... it's just wow, I'll just leave it at that, just wow. I'm a fan of the franchise, and to be able to be a part of it and to be with Keanu Reeves every day is just ... wow. I can't wait for the world to see it. You all are going to love it."

What about working with Reeves, who has gained quite a reputation as one of Hollywood's most genuine, generous people, often showering coworkers with gifts and just generally being a stand-up dude? Well, if you had any suspicions that the Internet was amplifying Reeves' reputation for being cool beyond its merits, Shamier Anderson is her to dispel them. "Keanu Reeves," he stated emphatically, "is the nicest guy on the planet Earth."

You'll be able to see Shamier Anderson's debut in the Wick-verse when "John Wick 4" arrives May 27, 2022. In the meantime, you can see him in "Invasion," which is premiering new episodes Fridays on Apple TV+.
