Chris Hemsworth Thinks Wonder Woman Could Beat Thor In A Fight
What would happen if you brought together two of the strongest comic book gods for one epic battle of the sexes? According to Thor star Chris Hemsworth, the woman would win.
Hemsworth recently got into a round of digital banter with Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, as the pair discussed an age-old question: Who would win in a fight, the Themysciran Amazon princess Wonder Woman or the Asgardian God of Thunder Thor?
Gadot sparked the conversation in an interview with Katie Couric (via Twitter), during which Gadot stated that she believes Wonder Woman could best the golden-haired god. "Don't you, Chris?" Gadot teased. Hemsworth swiftly took to Twitter to agree. "I think she'd kick Thor's a**," he wrote.
The back-and-forth didn't stop there, though. Gadot continued the cheeky conversation by writing, "I always knew you were a smart guy. But I think its worth a fight. We should collide worlds." Her tweet was punctuated by the "smirking face" emoji, suggesting that Gadot hopes Hemsworth's beloved Marvel character will meet up with her DC super-heroine. (Well, it's wishful thinking, at least.)
For those familiar with Wonder Woman's origins, it's little surprise to hear that Hemsworth thinks she's the best when it comes to brawn. In DC Comics lore, Wonder Woman possesses superhuman strength and speed, other-worldly durability, and razor-sharp reflexes. She also doesn't tire easily, is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat (thanks to her Amazon training on Themyscira), and has the Lasso of Truth, indestructible gauntlets, a sword, and a shield at her disposal. Oh yeah, and she can fly.
While we likely won't ever see Wonder Woman and Thor go head-to-head any time soon, given the whole "competing cinematic universes" thing, we can look forward to catching more of each hero in upcoming movies. The Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman was recently released to rave reviews, and Thor will return to the silver screen in Thor: Ragnarok this November.
Until then, check out the Marvel and DC crossovers we'd love to see.
