How Kelly Reilly Really Feels About Season 4 Of Yellowstone
Paramount Network's smash-hit Western drama, "Yellowstone," is well into its fourth barn-burning season, and things are only getting more complicated for John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his family as they desperately try to maintain control of their land. With each passing season, that undertaking only seems to get more and more difficult, thanks to the opportunistic rivals who constantly descend on the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in the hopes of exploiting its prime Montana location.
It's getting more dangerous to hang onto that land too, with the Dutton family suffering violent attacks from all sides in the "Yellowstone" Season 3 finale. Fortunately, John, Beth (Kelly Reilly), and Kayce (Luke Grimes) all narrowly escaped the chaos with their lives. Now, while "Yellowstone" Season 4 finds the Duttons licking their wounds and trying to figure out who really ordered the attacks on them, it also sees them coming closer than they ever have before to losing their coveted land.
But according to "Yellowstone" star Kelly Reilly, the various ongoing threats that the Duttons are facing right now are also what ultimately make Season 4 the show's most "terrifying" yet.
Kelly Reilly loves how Yellowstone Season 4 challenges Beth
Kelly Reilly dropped that headline-grabbing word in a recent interview with Parade, where she talked candidly about the high stakes surrounding the Duttons in Season 4 of "Yellowstone." The actor even revealed that her tough-as-nails Beth is genuinely shaken by the state of things at her family's ranch.
"Probably the biggest threat that they've ever experienced is upon them right now in this season. And part of what I loved about doing this season is you're seeing Beth realize there's only so much she can do," Reilly said. "There's a potential that this has gone too far, and it's turned her slightly panicked. She has got to find a way to save them, and she doesn't think she can, and that's something that is really interesting."
However, in spite of the many dangers facing the family, Kelly Reilly claims that Beth isn't letting anything get in her way this season. "She doesn't walk around going, 'Poor me.' Beth is just getting the job done," the actor noted.
Additionally, while all signs suggest that Beth's wayward brother, Jamie (Wes Bentley), wasn't involved in what happened in "Yellowstone" Season 3, Reilly says Beth is still convinced he had something to do with the way things went down. "She sees him as an enemy of her father and everything that her father is asking her to protect. And if Beth thinks someone's her enemy, she's like the Dark Destroyer," Reilly teased.
Considering Beth and Jamie's tumultuous past, it seems safe to say that the adopted Dutton brother should probably start watching his back a little more vigilantly in "Yellowstone" Season 4.
