The Major Prop Kristen Stewart Took From The Set Of Twilight
"The Twilight Saga" has been the butt of many jokes in pop culture since its inception, however, there's no denying that the novels and movies sunk their teeth into the market and made a huge impact. According to Forbes, the "Twilight" books made Stephenie Meyer the bestselling author in the United States in 2008, having sold over 29 million copies. The movie franchise, meanwhile, has grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide (per The Numbers). Could it be that everyone is secretly a fan of the glittery vampires and luscious lycanthropes?
It's been 13 years since Kristen Stewart first graced our screens as Bella Swan, the high schooler who falls head over heels for a charming vampire named Edward (played by Robert Pattinson). Since then, she's gone on to star in several projects that have garnered heaps of critical acclaim and box office success. But Stewart will always have a soft spot for the franchise that made her a household name. She even counts a couple of props she stole from the set as prized possessions.
Why Kristen Stewart stole her rings from Twilight
It's not uncommon for actors to become thieves whenever they work on a project that feels special. For example, Chris Pratt stole Star-Lord's iconic "Guardians of the Galaxy" jacket for very admirable reasons back in the day. Kristen Stewart also had respectable motivations for stealing the rings Bella wore in the "Twilight" movies, though hers were more personal.
While speaking to People, Stewart revealed that the rings Bella wore in the movies will always remind her of working with director Catherine Hardwicke and co-star Robert Pattinson. According to Stewart, the rings are "really important" to her, serving as a reminder of the franchise and people that made her a megastar all those years ago. One of the rings she took is the one Bella's mom gives her in the first film, which she said "completely" reminds her of Hardwicke, while she also has Bella's huge engagement ring, which is likely a remembrance of Pattinson.
During a separate conversation with Collider, Stewart singled out Hardwicke for praise and explained why she felt a synergy with the filmmaker. "She's really eccentric. When you first meet her you're like, 'Wow, you're crazy.' I mean, I love this woman. There's something about her." The actor went on to praise Hardwicke for helping her understand the emotional heart of each scene and credited her for making it seem so simplistic.
