Tom Holland's Embarrassing Spider-Man Fart Incident Explained

Zendaya and Tom Holland's relationship might just be the most endearing byproduct of their work together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indeed, the fact that they are just as close in real life as their "Spider-Man" characters, Peter Parker and Michelle Jones, are in the MCU only makes their relationship that much more heartwarming.

It's clear the actors are pretty comfortable with each other too. In recent weeks, they've been giving joint interviews together, sneaking glances at each other on the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" red carpet, and just being generally adorable.

But as anybody who has been in a relationship knows, it's important that everyone involved gets used to the fact that they're all human — and sometimes being human is kind of gross. The good news is that it seems like Zendaya and Tom Holland are aware of that, based on an anecdote they recently told about how the mechanics of one stunt in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" resulted in a fairly embarrassing moment between the two of them.

One Spider-Man stunt created an embarrassing moment for Tom Holland

While swinging through the streets of New York looks undeniably cool on-screen, Tom Holland says it's a lot more uncomfortable to film than fans might think. In fact, during a "Spider-Man: No Way Home" moment in which his Peter Parker swings Zendaya's MJ into his bedroom, the harness Holland had to be strapped in for the scene compressed his stomach in such a way that he couldn't avoid letting loose a fart. "It's tough. The suit's tight," Holland told SiriusXM.

"I felt the rattle," Zendaya said, tapping her thigh to indicate where, exactly, the percussive impact of the toot had landed. "That's my bad," Holland replied. Zendaya brushed the whole thing off, however, saying that even if the incident had taken place on the set of their first movie together, it still would have been funny. Holland agreed, adding, "We would have spoken about it in the press then, so we're talking about it in the press now."

Thankfully, the two actors seem to be making the most of the embarrassing moment, which may just make Marvel fans everywhere fall even more in love with them.
