Does The Matrix Resurrections Have A Post-Credits Scene?
Admit it. A time or two, you've pulled out your phone in a movie theater when the credits began rolling to see if there was a mid or post-credits scene. Some of you are doing that exact thing right now, which led you to us.
While end-credit scenes have become the norm these days, they aren't limited to the MCU or DCEU, who don't seem to make a film without them. Plenty of movies outside the superhero genre throw one at the end of their rolling credits, like this year's "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" and "F9." But will there be one for "The Matrix Resurrections?"
"The Matrix Reloaded" actually had a post-credits scene way back in 2003, which was a teaser trailer for "The Matrix Revolutions." It would be surprising if Lana Wachowski opted to skip the current trend, especially after doing it in the past. Luckily, we know if you need to stick around after the credits roll.
Yup, there is a post-credits scene in The Matrix Resurrections
We're not going to spoil "The Matrix Resurrections" end-credits scene for you; we're just here to let you know that there is one. While the terms post-credit, end-credit, and mid-credit get thrown around rather loosely these days, they are specific to when a scene will come after a movie concludes. "The Matrix Resurrections" has a post-credit scene, meaning it comes after the crawl and is the final thing you'll see before the theater kicks its lights back on. There is no mid-credits scene.
While we've promised not to spoil the scene, we can promise you it is not integral to the story whatsoever. You can leave the theater (or exit HBO Max) whenever you please, and you will not be missing anything important. According to /Film, it's actually a gag and has nothing to do with the movie at all. There is no "Matrix 5" tease or trailer — it's something entirely different. Stay at your own risk, but don't say we didn't warn you.
