The Gossip Girl Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

"Gossip Girl" was arguably one of the most iconic teen drama series to hit television in the 2000s. It was a modern-day soap for young adults filled with scandal, drama, and fashion. Many compared the early seasons to "Sex and the City," only for teenagers. And now that HBO Max has released the reboot series, it's high time to look back at the reigning queen bee show that started it all.

"Gossip Girl" was a series filled with some strong personalities, making it the perfect show to match characters with each zodiac sign. Zodiac signs correspond to constellations appearing throughout the year. Personality traits associated with each of the 12 signs can be assigned to those born during different times of the year. Therefore, each zodiac will be assigned to a certain character from the original show, detailing how their personality traits match with those traits initially associated with the sign. With these zodiac characteristics being pulled from Refinery 29, it's time to take a look at where each character falls. You know you love it.

Nate Archibald is an Aries

Aries are known to be confident, passionate and straightforward, although they can also be impatient and all too quick to act on impulse. Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) is all of these things. Of his Upper East Side classmates, Nate was always the most ardent. When introduced in the first season, he was in a relationship with Blair but was clearly in love with Serena, and desperately wanted to escape his situation and be with her.

Nate's exceptionally credulous nature tends to get him into trouble, especially with women, as was never more apparent than in his affair with Catherine Beaton. Luckily, it seems as though Nate learned from his troubled past with his relationships, as he's the only main character to have ended the show single. He's a down-to-earth kind of guy (for a golden rich boy) who wears his heart on his sleeve and moves through life wherever the wind takes him. That impulsive nature of his has Aries energy written all over it.

Dan Humphrey is a Taurus

Before Penn Badgley portrayed the psychopath Joe Goldberg in Netflix's "You," he played psychopath Dan Humphrey in "Gossip Girl." At first, Dan was the everyman of the show. He always tried to do the right thing and expose the hypocrisy on the Upper East Side. Yet he had a need to fit in with his wealthy classmates and wanted desperately to be enough for the woman he loved, Serena.

Dan was first seen as reliable, practical, stable, and devoted — all Taurus qualities. He was the calm in the storm that was "Gossip Girl." However, once it was revealed in the final season that Dan was the person behind Gossip Girl — the blog that spread rumors about Dan's friends and family online — his other Taurus qualities of possessiveness and uncompromising behavior began to shine. It's pretty messed up that he was doing this to people he supposedly loved all along. Perhaps Dan was the warm-up for Badgley becoming Joe in "You."

Georgina Sparks is a Gemini

Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) has big Gemini energy. She's cunning, curious, and can easily adapt whenever the social situation calls for it. Introduced mainly as an antagonist in the lives of Manhattan's most elite, Georgina found chaos to be a delicious mess for her to rummage through. She thought of the world as one big chess game, with her moving the pieces around as she saw fit.

Georgina's indecisive nature also falls under textbook Gemini behavior. Georgina can often be seen flip-flopping back and forth from friend to foe depending on her mood. And while it's nice when she's using her chaos energy for the forces of good, it's so fun watching Georgina be bad, partly because she's just so good at it. She's never really invested in the outcome of her schemes — she just wants to see it all burn down. Classic Georgina. She's here for a good time, but maybe not a long one.

Rufus Humphrey is a Cancer

Traditionally, people born under the Cancer zodiac sign are considered to be selfless, loyal, sympathetic, and compassionate caregivers. If that isn't resident "Gossip Girl" dad Rufus Humphrey, then it's no one at all. Rufus (Matthew Settle) was a single father to Dan and Jenny Humphrey. He did his best to teach his kids the value of family and money even as they were constantly surrounded by the elite of the Upper East Side. It's not clear where he went wrong with raising Gossip Girl himself and the menace that Jenny Humphrey turned out to be.

Of all the parents featured on the show, Rufus, alongside Cyrus (Wallace Shawn), was arguably the best. His drama was considered somewhat tame compared to the other adults. He was a loyal character who always saw the best in people. While sometimes his love for characters like Lily van der Woodsen blinded him of their more negative personality traits, he chose to love and support them anyway. His Cancer energy definitely shone through in all aspects of this character's life.

Serena van der Woodsen is a Leo

It only makes sense for the resident It Girl of "Gossip Girl" to be a Leo. Leos always tend to be the main characters of their stories, and Serena (Blake Lively) definitely had main character syndrome. Personality traits associated with the Leo zodiac sign tend to include passionate, cheerful, stubborn, self-centered, and creative. Serena is a character that takes over a room, and not just with her fashion, but with her drama as well. The show kicked off with Serena van der Woodsen coming back in town and threatening to take the title of queen away from the Blair witch herself.

Serena's stubborn Leo aspects come through in almost all she does. Things have to go her way regardless of how her actions will affect those around her. While it's true that her relationship with Dan seemed to soften her up in some respect, she still made irresponsible choices to further her agenda. After all, you can't keep a Leo down.

Raina Thorpe is a Virgo

Virgos don't mess around. Those personalities with big Virgo energy typically have an all work and no play attitude. Raina Thorpe (Tika Sumpter) was first introduced in the fourth season when she meets Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) as he visits the Thorpe Enterprises office looking for her father, Russell Thorpe (Michael Boatman). Raina is an intelligent and ambitious character. While she's an heiress to her father's empire, she's still determined to make waves on her own and to prove herself worthy.

Raina is a classic Virgo, as they're seen to be analytical, hardworking, practical, and loyal. While she catches Chuck's eye initially for these qualities, she chooses to end the relationship when she sees how little family means to him. As someone who is incredibly loyal to her father above all else, it doesn't come as a surprise for Raina to make that choice. Following another Virgo trait, Raina does tend to be overly critical of herself and others. She holds everyone to a high standard and reacts harshly when she feels that they don't meet her level.

Bart Bass is a Libra

Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) is a hard character to lock down, but ultimately he tends to have more Libra zodiac qualities than any other. Libras are known to be diplomatic and social, but you may want to avoid making them angry as they're also likely to hold a grudge and see themselves as the victim rather than the antagonist. When you look at how Bart, the straight-to-business man, treats those around him, you can see how he gives off Libra vibes.

Bart is analytical in how he tackles a problem. He will examine all angles of a situation before making a choice that benefits him. He has a strong sense of justice and is known to be judgmental as he believes that his status of wealth and power leads him to be right in every situation. Unfortunately, his ability to rub people the wrong way cost him his life as he fell to his death in Season 6 of "Gossip Girl."

Blair Waldorf is a Scorpio

While Serena may be the It Girl, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) is the one true queen bee of the show and is, by definition a true Scorpio. Scorpios tend to be stubborn, resourceful, secretive, and jealous. When audiences first meet Blair, she's automatically jealous of Serena as she was once the queen of the Upper East Side before leaving the crown to Blair. Fans of the show will remember how Serena's relationship with Blair's boyfriend Nate caused more jealousy to arise between the two friends, who turned into frenemies before becoming besties once more.

As the show continued, Blair's Scorpio character traits blossomed and she became more calculating in her acts of revenge. Blair also had some trust issues and tended to keep many secrets from those closest to her, opting to make big moves on her own. As time progressed, Blair felt that she could only trust Chuck as their relationship began to deepen. The two were constantly caught up in schemes to take down anyone who got in their way.

Jenny Humphrey is a Sagittarius

Those with Sagittarius personality traits have an idealistic viewpoint on life. They're very impatient to get what they want and will say anything to achieve that goal, no matter how undiplomatic. Sagittarius people bite off a bit more than they can chew as they tend to make promises that they can't keep. However, they like to hold onto their independence and their own strength. This sounds like Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) to a T.

Jenny began as an innocent character who had grand dreams of fitting in with the elite. She idolized Blair and would say or do anything to become someone who belonged on the Upper East Side. She chose to focus her talents on her social game in the hopes of fast-tracking her way to achieving her goals, much to her father's dismay. However, Jenny's character went through a metamorphosis, in which she broke out of her unrealistic views on life for newfound independence. She became a character who no longer needed approval from anyone.

Lily van der Woodsen is a Capricorn

Capricorns are typically known to be disciplined and in control. While they do have good manners, they can come across as patronizing and act like a know-it-all. Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford), the mother of Serena van der Woodsen, seems to emulate these zodiac attributes.

Lily's mission is to maintain her image and social status whatever the cost. She cares about protecting what she deems as hers regardless of what others may think of her. While Lily can come across as cold and condescending at times, she's a truly protective character who believes that her actions are justified as she tends to assume that she's always right. True to her Capricorn ways, Lily is all about getting down to business, and while she seemingly ends up being at the heart of the most drama in "Gossip Girl," she would prefer to get to the crux of the matter without the dramatic flair. How ironic.

Vanessa Abrams is an Aquarius

In the beginning, Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) was a breath of fresh air when she was added to the cast ensemble. She was unlike anyone else on the show and considered more of a free spirit. As an activist, Vanessa had high morals to ground her. She never seemed all that impressed by Manhattan's elite, something that almost all the other characters got distracted by at some point.

Vanessa is a clear-cut Aquarius. They are known to be independent, but also compassionate and forward-thinking. Aquarius folks tend to march to their own drum and will carve their own path, which is what Vanessa chose to do when interacting with the Upper East Side. Audiences can even see Vanessa's Aquarius spirit in the clothes she chooses to wear, as their match of eccentric colors and patterns outwardly encompasses her free spirit. Ultimately, it's her need for independence that ends her friendship with Dan, resulting in Vanessa moving abroad to get away from the glitz and glam of the Upper East Side and its elites.

Eric van der Woodsen is a Pisces

Finally, the Pisces zodiac sign is revealed to be none other than the youngest van der Woodsen, Eric (Connor Paolo). Pisces are typically compassionate, gentle, and artistic. Eric is certainly one of the most kindly characters in the show and arguably considered to be the most genuine person. While his overly trusting nature can lead him into some trouble, this is just another attribute of his Pisces zodiac sign as they're known to be unguarded to a fault.

For a while there, Eric was the heart of "Gossip Girl." It's him who Serena returns for at the beginning of the show, and Eric who reunites her with Blair. Eric is also one of the only people that Jenny trusts and who tries to be there for his mom when Serena is less than enthusiastic about Lily's romantic partners. Fun fact, the "Gossip Girl" creative team initially had Eric in mind as being the big reveal for the Gossip Girl character instead of Dan, but Eric was just too lovable for the team to see go down that path.
