The Money Heist Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

Starting life as the underrated "La casa de papel" on Spanish television, "Money Heist" has become one of Netflix's bigger recent hits after it relaunched on the streaming service. Chronicling a group of thieves attempting to rob the Royal Mint of Spain, and later the Bank of Spain, it has become an international sensation. So much so that the red jumpsuits and Dali masks the group wears have been spotted at everything from protests to Halloween parties.

A big part of the success of "Money Heist" is in its diverse cast of characters. The group has largely remained together throughout the five parts of the series, expanding a bit to include some new additions. Each of them is unique, carrying strong strengths and weaknesses — similar, in a way, to the signs of the zodiac. Much like the characters in "Money Heist," each sign permits a template that will practically predict an individual's response to a given situation — as well as if they are uniquely suited to triumph, or get taken out.

With that in mind, here is a cross-analysis of the characters you love and the character you were born with. Select your birth date, and see which "Money Heist" malcontent is your spirit animal.

Aries (March 21 – April 19): Berlin

Aries can be a complicated sign, boasting an ambitious drive, faithfulness, and a strong personality. They are also typically brave and decisive, boldly taking leadership roles and keeping everyone under them motivated. Strongly associated with the planet Mars, Aries is one of the most fierce and emotional zodiac signs; it is not unusual for them to have short tempers or respond to situations with aggression. Aries often develop a fondness for getting into great physical shape, developing a strong body.

Those traits describe one character from "Money Heist" perfectly. Berlin (Pedro Alonso) is a headstrong, charismatic commander who takes charge of the gang in the field. A divisive figure, many fans see him as a monster, but to others he is simply willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. His treatment of Ariadna Cascales (Clara Alvarado), who he has a twisted relationship with, is one example of this. He also sacrificed Tokyo after she betrayed him, handing her over to police in a demonstration of his temper getting the best of him. Nevertheless, the character is fiercely loyal to his crew and brother, sacrificing himself at the end of the second part so that they can escape.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Alicia Sierra

A fixed earth sign ruled by Venus, Taurus is strongly related to a well-defined series of qualities. Two frequent characteristics used to describe the zodiac sign include stubbornness and pragmatism.

A Taurean will almost certainly stick to their guns and fixate on their own way of doing things, yet they can also be level-headed and realistic about what they are able to do. They have a sensible nature while also being very dependable. This makes them great teammates or colleagues, especially when the going gets tough. Of course, those born under this sign are not entirely focused on work; they are able to enjoy some of the finer things in life and have a somewhat sensual personality.

Considering all of the Taurean traits above, one character that jumps out as the best fit is Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) from the third, fourth, and fifth parts. The merciless, determined police officer investigates the gang and attempts to prevent them from robbing the Bank of Spain. She is fixated on her task and displays a disposition to get the result she wants at any cost. Alicia even shows how smart she is by discovering where the Professor's (Álvaro Morte) hideout is. But by Part 5, the character mellows and starts to show a more caring side, as she gives birth to a daughter.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Denver

Gemini is a zodiac sign constantly in flux, liable to change at a moment's notice. It is connected with a fast-paced lifestyle, as typical Geminis love to explore and get the most out of every situation.

They are also open-minded and show a great ability to adapt and use their intelligence to change course when the facts dictate. Those born under this sign are sometimes seen as being two-faced, thanks to their fluidity, but this is a misunderstanding of their nature. Disloyalty is certainly not something that should be associated with the sign.

Denver (Jaime Lorente) has shown throughout "Money Heist" that he has an almost limitless store of energy. He is also a keen intellect and can seem to move too rapidly on occasion due to his quick wit. The character has shown an inclination to evolve and mature over time, changing significantly since his introduction. Denver is no longer the raw, innocent youngster. Despite occasionally being brash, he has also demonstrated his loving side, displaying tenderness towards hostages and keeping the gang laughing with his jokes and one-liners.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Rio

Cancer is a water sign most heavily connected to the idea of being overly-emotional. This can lead to Cancers being volatile and excitable, losing control of their tempers from time to time; on the flip side, it can also mean that those born under this sign are deeply loving and devoted to their friends and families — protecting them above all else.

The sensitive nature of Cancers allows them to show an element of introspection and thoughtfulness about their actions. Like the crab that represents the sign, they can appear to be cold and distant at first, but once you get under that hard shell they make great companions.

Out of all the main characters in "Money Heist," it is Rio (Miguel Herrán) that most closely symbolizes Cancer. He is sensitive and caring, displaying a strong love for Tokyo in their time together. The youngest member of the gang, he is probably the biggest worrier too. He spends much of his time second guessing his decisions and has an innocence about him, which has landed him in trouble. This has been particularly true when he has become too trustful of those around him. Like other Cancers, Rio struggles with opening up, sometimes requiring someone to protect him from himself.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): Arturo

Typically linked to bravery and battling, Leos are warriors who take control of a situation and assert their authority over others. They can have something of an ego, a side effect of such power and abilities, and they might also be adventurous and willing to jump into risky situations, all in the name of being the center of attention. It isn't unusual for Leos to take leadership roles, as they often are the sort of people that others will follow.

In some ways, Arturo (Enrique Arce) is not a typical Leo. He has shown on more than one occasion that he can be cowardly, and will put others in danger to save himself. But he fits the bill with many of his other personality traits. He explained to the other robbers that he wants to be a hero in Part 4, expressing a desire to save everyone. Arturo is also self-entitled and dramatic, seeking to dominate women and capture the attention of everyone in a room. The character is intensely jealous as well, trying to win back Monica despite her moving on and realizing his toxic nature.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Nairobi

The Virgo sign is one closely linked with innocence and goodness. Many of those born under this sign will be pure hearted and empathetic, caring for those around them. Virgos are also humble and self-effacing, preferring to stay out of the limelight wherever possible. They will generally be hard working and practical thinkers, using a curious mind to get answers and uncover the truth. The logical mind of the Virgo also gives them a better sense of events, making them great planners who can see the big picture and not get bogged down in the little details.

Many of those qualities could be used to describe Nairobi (Alba Flores) in "Money Heist." She takes on the role of a mother figure for the group, keeping them focused on their jobs and protecting them. She is easily the most caring and loving of the main characters, and takes a no-nonsense approach to her role. Nairobi also adds an element of order to the chaos of the heists, using her objectivity to remain a voice of reason throughout the series.

Libra (September 23 – October 22): Helsinki

Libra is one of the zodiac signs with the most diverse set of characteristics. While those associated with this sign are often simple people, there are many different features that could be used to describe them. They are clever and quick-witted, but also friendly and warm. Libras are some of the most loving people, and people enjoy being around them due to their charming nature. Perhaps most importantly, Libras aim to seek out justice and harmony in everything they do. They want to strike a careful balance in their lives, desiring equality over everything else.

Helsinki (Darko Perić) is a Serbian migrant who has had a tough upbringing. This has instilled in him a strong work ethic, along with an inclination to follow orders without any hesitation. He is also a neutral figure, refusing to take sides and instead often choosing to occupy the middle ground. Helsinki shares Libran qualities, such as an inability to stand up for himself as much as he should. Yet in Part 2 of Episode 1, Helsinki gave a perfect demonstration of love for his family when he compassionately euthanized his cousin Oslo after he had been put into a vegetative state.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Tokyo

Along with Aries, Scorpio is one of the darker signs of the zodiac. Those born under this particular sign often have an aggressive side to their personality, although that does not necessarily mean that they will be violent or evil. One thing is certain, however: Scorpios are incredibly passionate. They have a fire burning inside them and a temperamental nature. This can make them intensely loyal to their loved ones, although those who do not know them may find them intimidating, at least at first.

Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó) fits this sign almost perfectly. She is intense, with a fiery temper that can explode at the flick of a switch. The character is staunchly independent and refuses to let others intimidate her, something that has led to more than a few arguments with the rest of the gang. Like any good Scorpio, Tokyo is also able to use her sensual nature to her advantage — bending men to her will using natural beauty and charm. But her darker side has been evident multiple times as well, like when she left Rio on an island at the start of Part 3.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Lisbon

According to Allure, Sagittarius is a star sign all about exploration and adventure. Those born under it will want to go out into the world and take in everything it has to offer. They are upbeat people and very unique, having their own personality that others admire. Sagittarians are typically clever and assertive, as well as being loyal to those they care about. Due to the mutable nature of Sagittarius, those linked with it are adaptable and open to change. Ultimately, Sagittarians are extroverts and optimistic people who want to get the most out of life.

Throughout "Money Heist," Lisbon (Itziar Ituño) has shown that she has an adventurous spirit. She can be spontaneous and doesn't feel shackled to one place. After all, she started the series as a respected police inspector investigating the robbery before joining the group after falling in love with the Professor. This shows how impulsive she can be by abandoning her former life. On the flip side, the character has a more stable side to her personality, being honest and reassuring to those around her. Lisbon has also shown how intelligent she is, using her smarts to almost uncover the true identity of the Professor.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): The Professor

Capricorn is an earth sign of the zodiac, and that means they have attributes that one would typically equate with physical qualities. That makes them dependable and grounded, unlikely to get carried away by events. Capricorns are incredibly hard working, arguably the most focused and determined of the entire zodiac. With a self reliant, ambitious personality, those born under this sign are great leaders, especially when you consider their calmness in chaotic situations. They are desired life partners and friends, as they will always go the extra mile and never give up.

The traits that best describe Capricorn fit with the Professor (Álvaro Morte). He is the leader of the gang of thieves, and the ultimate mastermind behind the events of the series. This demonstrates his reasoning and strategic thinking, as he can plan ahead while his unyielding attitude shows his resolve. The Professor does everything he can to keep the group safe, caring for them in his own way. Above all else, the Professor is someone who knows what he wants and how to get it, making him a perfect match with the Capricorn zodiac sign.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Palermo

Despite its water-sounding name, Aquarius is actually a fixed air sign ruled by Uranus. It is a sign that is about individuality rather than conformity. Those born under the sign will be distinct personalities who want to do their own thing, often with a revolutionary view of the world. In that sense, Aquarians want to make the world a better place, and are willing to use their rebellious tendencies to achieve those ends. They think big and can be very smart, although they may lose sight of the here and now.

Aquarians prefer not to stick to the norm or accept authority without question. That's a description that could easily apply to Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna), who is a loner and has a cold facade that can be off-putting. He relishes being in control rather than simply following orders, like many others under the sign of Aquarius. Palermo is also intelligent and self-reliant, and can work just effectively by himself or as part of the wider team.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20): Stockholm

Pisces is a water sign and like Scorpio and Cancer, it is mutable in its essence. That means those born under this sign are able to adapt quickly to situations. Pisceans are often spiritual beings, filled with compassion, and a great deal of empathy for those around them. They can understand emotions and read people, making them ideal people to have around in emergency situations where things can get out of hand. Their level-headedness and ability to balance out the bad with the good ensures they should have a role in any team.

There is little doubt that Stockholm (Esther Acebo) is the Pisces of the group. She is both kind and caring, always looking out for everyone else in the gang. In many ways, she is the mother figure that keeps everything together in a crisis and tries to keep everyone focused on what they have to do. In the early parts of "Money Heist" she was a hostage herself, but joined them when she chose to escape the heist rather than stay behind. This is further confirmation of her Piscean nature, as she made a huge change in her life without being forced to do so.
