Why Tomura Shigaraki Has Fans Scared For My Hero Academia Season 6
The hit anime series "My Hero Academia" wrapped up Season 5 last year and fans are already gearing up for the premiere of Season 6, slated to air in October (per Funimation).
Manga readers already know just how intense the series is about to get, and judging by how things ended in Season 5, fans of the anime are in for quite a ride. The last time we saw Izuku Midoriya (a.k.a. Deku) and the UA High gang, the students were busy at their work-study programs where Midoriya was finally able to master his newly awakened Blackwhip ability. Meanwhile, Tomura Shigaraki and the League of Villains were hard at work battling against Gigantomachia and the Meta Liberation Army. The end of Season 5 sees the League join forces with the Meta Liberation Army to create the Paranormal Liberation Front, with Shigaraki recognized as their leader and rightful successor of All For One.
It's safe to say the heroes of "My Hero Academia" are in for some serious trouble entering Season 6, and fans are worried, to say the least.
Tomura Shigaraki just got extremely powerful
As "My Hero Academia" heads into Season 6, the pro heroes and UA's hero course students have a lot going against them as they prepare for war against Tomura Shigaraki and the Paranormal Liberation Front. Not only does the Paranormal Liberation Front have thousands of followers with quirks, but they also have the backing of Gigantomachia, All For One's former bodyguard and a behemoth capable of destroying cities. Not to mention, Shigaraki has now fully awakened his Decay quirk and can decay an entire city, as we see in Season 5, and is in the process of gaining the incredibly powerful All For One.
With all this in mind, it's not so hard to imagine why fans are worried about the pro heroes and UA students. Several Redditors voiced their concerns, with many wondering just how the heroes stand a chance against the likes of Shigaraki. u/Pedarsen was among those worried fans, commenting, "Shigaraki is one terrifying villain. AFO had access to everything yet that decay power is on another level. I wonder how Deku is suppose [sic] to fight him in the future."
Another Redditor, u/ckowkay, similarly wondered how the heroes can go against Shigaraki with his newly advanced quirk. "Shigaraki already had a broken quirk to begin with, now I don't understand how anyone could actually beat him," they wrote.
u/1th-throwaway was particularly concerned with Deku in the upcoming war, writing, "Seeing Deku control his black whip a little better aint so impressive with Shigaraki's awakening entering the picture. They're gonna have a lot of work to do." u/Jebrawl responded, "No s*** they have a lot of work to do, Deku can't hold a candle to what Shiggy is now."
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until October to see just how well the heroes will fair against the Paranormal Liberation Front.
