The Tick Returns In The Trailer For Amazon's Reboot Series
Grab your spoon. The Tick is coming back to TV.
Amazon unveiled the first full trailer for the live-action reboot of the series that picks up where the previously aired pilot episode left off. Based on the independent comic book that launched in 1988, the new show follows the Tick (Peter Serafinowicz) as he drags his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) into the world of crime-fighting. The series co-stars Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Brendan Hines (Scorpion) as Superian, and Valorie Curry (House of Lies) as Dot Everest.
Here's the official synopsis: "In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super-villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero."
Along with the trailer, which confirms a release date of Aug. 25, Amazon released a new poster, which offers another look at our new team.
The Tick was previously adapted as a cartoon that ran on Fox from 1994 to 1996, and was later made into a live-action series that starred Seinfeld's Patrick Warburton. That version, however, only lasted nine episodes.
