Mark Ruffalo May Have Just Revealed A Big Avengers: Infinity War Spoiler
Warning: This article contains potential spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.
Whoops: Mark Ruffalo might have just made a huge reveal about the plot of Avengers: Infinity War during a recent interview with Good Morning America. According to the star, the movie will end up with just about all of our favorite heroes dead.
Ruffalo was feeling extra spoiler-y in the interview, frequently going to his co-interviewee Don Cheadle to see if it was okay for him to drop hints about his future projects. He began by discussing his role in Thor: Ragnarok, saying that he will team up with the hero to save his homeland of Asgard. While he would not reveal whether or not the pair succeeds, he did offer this as a hint: "Let me just say this, like every other Marvel movie, it doesn't end well for the superheroes."
It was here that he offered up his Infinity War bombshell, saying, "Wait til you see this next one. Everybody dies." This prompted an immediate warning from Cheadle, with Ruffalo then backtracking and saying, "Not everybody. Is that... can we rewind that part?... Am I in trouble? Is Barry gonna be mad at me? I get impulsive sometimes. Just get a little impulsive."
While the comics suggest that Ruffalo's warning about everyone dying is actually correct, it's also possible that he decided to drop a fake spoiler just to mess with fans. With the pro-secret keepers at Marvel likely vetting the interviews before they aired, it seems unlikely that a real spoiler that huge would have been allowed on TV. Still, though, Ruffalo did offer up the hint, which means that it comes with at least a bit of weight.
There are plenty of reasons for the heroes to be biting the dust in Infinity War. Despite the fact that the movie has a massive cast assembled, the heroes will have an impressive foe in Josh Brolin's Thanos, who will be accompanied by his villainous lieutenants the Black Order, including Glaive, Proxima, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian. Not much is known about the specific plot of the film, but Tom Holland has said that "no one is ready" for its epic scale.
Avengers: Infinity War, which recently blew audiences away with a first trailer screened at D23, is set to be released on May 4, 2018, so it may be a while before we see if Ruffalo's spoiler winds up to be true. For now, read up on every character who has been confirmed for the film thus far.
