Is There A New Chicago Med Episode On Tonight? (February 2, 2022)
"Chicago Med," part of NBC's "One Chicago" franchise from legendary procedural creator Dick Wolf, represents the medical branch of the series and operates alongside "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." Currently in Season 7, "Chicago Med" stars Torrey DeVitto, Marlyne Barrett, Dominic Rains, and Nick Gehlfuss. Gehlfuss plays Dr. Will Halstead, the older brother of Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), the commanding officer on "Chicago P.D.," and acts as one of the vectors in which the entire franchise interconnects and relates.
Season 7 has seen the staff of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center grow and have to deal with diagnosing new patients, investigating fellow doctors, drug addiction, and interoffice politics. The current season has also been generally well-received thus far. Per IMDb, the lowest-rated episode has a 6.8 out of 10, and the highest-rated episode has an 8.7 out of 10.
Considering that the season is yet to finish and there are still plenty of plot threads to develop, fans may be wondering if there is a new episode on tonight. Here's what we know.
There will be no new episode of Chicago Med on Wednesday, February 2
Unfortunately, there will not be a new episode of "Chicago Med" airing tonight, February 2 (via TVLine). The show's regular time slot is 8 p.m. ET on Wednesdays. While fans expect a new episode to debut in the slot, it looks like this week's episode will be a repeat of Season 7, Episode 5, "Change Is a Tough Pill to Swallow," according to TV Everyday. This particular episode deals with an elderly patient, a patient dealing with an ADHD misdiagnosis, and a delicate situation involving politics, a patient, and a kidney transplant.
According to NBC's official "Chicago Med" site, the next Season 7 episode will debut on February 23. The primary reason why "Chicago Med" and other "One Chicago" shows are currently on hiatus is due to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The 2022 Winter Olympics will run from February 4 to February 20 (per the official Olympics site), which will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock (via NBC Chicago). This means that the Winter Olympics will be dominating NBC's schedule for the next few weeks, which results in no new episodes for any of the "One Chicago" franchise shows.
