Jackass Forever's Chris Pontius Reveals His Most Painful Stunt Ever
The guys from MTV's "Jackass" have been hurting, pranking, and humiliating themselves for over two decades now — all for our amusement (and perhaps a little of their own). The group's latest project, "Jackass Forever," hits theaters on February 4 and is slated to be the most ridiculous one yet. It features most of the same recognizable faces from the TV show and previous movie installments, including Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and Danger Ehren, along with a whole new set of cast members hoping to up the slapstick ante.
One of the longest-running "Jackass" contributors — Pontius aka Party Boy — sat down with UPROXX recently to discuss the new "Jackass Forever" dynamic and how it ultimately played out behind the scenes. "We're like this family, but also... When we're filming, and there are cameras going, whatever you do to each other, it's worth it for the film," he explained. The former MTV star went on to answer a question that gets brought up often: Which stunt does he regret the most? Ironically, the skit wasn't even for "Jackass."
The Glove of Ants stunt from Wildboyz
For those who've seen "Wildboyz," the Glove of Ants segment from Season 2 was pretty much a given for most painful stunt ever performed by Pontius. He and Steve-O were filming the wildlife show's Brazil episode, which aired in May 2004, when they got offered the chance to take part in the local rite of passage.
For those who don't know, the Glove of Ants ceremony involves putting one's hand inside of a glove made of woven vine and filled to the brim with bullet ants. It's been covered and reported about in documentaries and other television shows.
"It's a rite of passage for this tribe in the Amazon," Pontius explained to UPROXX. "You put these ants, called bullet ants, they weave them into this glove, and when boys come of age, you put this glove on that has hundreds of ants that have the most painful sting of any insect. You wear this glove for the duration of the shaman singing this song, which is about eight minutes or so. You get stung hundreds of times, and that was by far the worst, most painful, dreadful thing I've ever done in my life combined. It's just like venom for 24 hours, and there's nothing you can do about it. So yeah, that was the worst thing. I would never do that again."
