Who Plays The Barista In BMW's Super Bowl 2022 Commercial?
The 2022 Super Bowl is nearly here. The highly anticipated football championship game will pit the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals against each other to see which team will emerge victorious. However, while there's obviously a lot of speculation and hype surrounding the game itself and its inevitable results, there's also quite a bit of anticipation surrounding what viewers will get to see while the game is happening. In specific, both football fans and non-football fans alike seem excited to see what commercials and movie and TV show trailers they're going to be shown during the game's coveted ad breaks.
Of course, that's not entirely surprising. Part of the joy of watching the Super Bowl has long come from getting to see the commercials that air throughout it, and every year, the day after the game's broadcast is usually filled with discussions about which company aired the best ad. There's no reason to believe that won't be the case this year as well, and certain companies are already giving viewers sneak peeks at what they'll be showing football fans when they tune into the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
One of those companies is BMW, which has already shared a teaser for its 2022 Super Bowl commercial online. Odds are, the thing most people will be talking about after they see it is that it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Greek god, Zeus. However, Schwarzenegger isn't the only recognizable actor in the teaser.
Matty Cardarople plays the barista in BMW's Super Bowl commercial
In addition to Arnold Schwarzenegger as Zeus, the teaser for BMW's 2022 Super Bowl commercial also stars Matty Cardarople as a barista who doesn't quite know how to pronounce the name of his co-star's mythic Greek god. While Cardarople certainly isn't as well-known as Schwarzenegger, he's still an actor that most TV viewers may recognize — even if they're not entirely sure what it is they've seen him in before.
That's because Cardarople has spent the past several years carving out a successful career as one of Hollywood's go-to character actors. Indeed, Netflix viewers will likely recognize him for his recurring guest appearances as Keith, the condescending arcade and movie rental store worker in "Stranger Things." Outside of his work in that show, Cardarople also starred as the Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender in Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events," and as Charlie in the short-lived ABC series, "Selfie." Additionally, Cardarople has had brief recurring roles on shows like "Reservation Dogs" and "NCIS: Los Angeles," and has had minor roles in several notable films over the past few years, including "The Big Sick," "Free Guy," and"Logan Lucky" (via IMDb).
In other words, while Cardarople may not be nearly as famous as someone like Schwarzenegger, he is steadily becoming an actor that more and more viewers are starting to recognize when they see him. His appearance in this BMW teaser should only help that trend continue to grow.
