Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc Fans Just Got The Best News Ever

When one anime behemoth comes to an end, another seemingly takes its place to become a new global sensation. As "Attack on Titan" nears the end of its run, fans certainly have no shortage of options for action-packed anime to fill the void. And it seems like many of them have taken a great liking to "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." Not only did the anime launch an immensely popular movie that took theaters by storm in 2020 and 2021, but the show also just finished airing new episodes of its second season in Japan.

It will take a while for those episodes to be available in the United States and beyond, but good news just came out that will make watching Season 2 all the more exciting. The Shonen Jump News — Unofficial Twitter page released a short video teasing the return of the series for a third season, and this time around, the anime will adapt the Swordsmith Village Arc from the manga.

Demon Slayer isn't slowing this train down

After being a hugely successful manga, "Demon Slayer" quickly made the leap to anime in high-flying fashion. Season 1 of the series was a huge hit, and instead of going straight into Season 2, the show decided to opt for a theatrical film. It proved to be a winning gambit as the movie adapted the "Mugen Train" storyline. The movie would go on to become the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan (via The Japan Times), helping to rejuvenate the box office in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It appears as though instead of having another movie to mark the transition from Season 2 to 3, "Demon Slayer" is going head-first into a new episodic storyline, namely the Swordsmith Village Arc. For those who haven't read the manga, this story kicks off when Tanjiro goes into Swordsmith Village to have his weapon fixed, and in the process, he meets two new hashira (via ComicBook.com).

There's no word yet on when exactly we can expect to see this new season, but seeing as how Season 2 just ended, it will likely be a while.
