Get A Look At Christian Bale's Thor: Love And Thunder Character In Lego Form
Marvel's "Thor: Love and Thunder" isn't set to hit theaters until July, but fans are actually able to get some awesome sneak peeks online right now — including photos showing Christian Bale's new character Gorr the God Butcher — thanks to the wonderful world of Lego.
You see, with every big movie release, MCU diehards are typically able to get early glimpses of what will most likely be shown on the big screen, character wise and outfit-wise, by looking at Lego and other toy and memorabilia drops. It's a regular occurrence with superhero flicks and often provides more details and insight related to a film's plot and character development.
As of right now, fans know that "Love and Thunder" will focus on Chris Hemsworth's Thor and his passing of the hammer to Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who is set to become the new God of Thunder. Bale's Gorr character is slated to be the movie's main villain and someone who, as the comic books go, is on a galactic mission of vengeance against every god and deity in the known universe following the deaths of his parents, wife, and children.
Armed with All-Black the Necrosword, Gorr is expected to be a formidable opponent for Earth's "strongest Avenger" and the others involved. And now thanks to Lego, we all get to have a closer look at him.
The Lego version of Gorr wields All-Black the Necrosword
First revealed on "Good Morning America," the Lego version of Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher is a toy with small, creepy details, and a subtle evilness guaranteed to make a few moms and dads do a double take. The Lego-man, which comes in a "Thor: Love and Thunder" set, features Gorr sporting his ominous white robes and iconic weapon of choice, All-Black the Necrosword. He can be seen battling Thor on the back of the Lego box. The figurines also come with a giant vessel known as "The Goat Boat."
"Join Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie and Korg onboard the mighty Viking ship as it soars through the skies," Marvel wrote in a description. "And it certainly wouldn't be known as The Goat Boat if not for the two legendary goats at the helm!" As mentioned in prior tweets and reports, it appears that Chris Hemsworth's mighty Asgardian will be accompanied by the character's two Norse-inspired goats, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, at some point during "Love and Thunder" — much like he once was in the comics.
According to director Taika Waititi, "Love and Thunder" will partially be based off Jason Aaron's "The Mighty Thor" series. "It's incredible and full of emotion and love and thunder," he once explained in 2019 (via Marvel). "Thor: Love and Thunder" is set to be released on July 8.
