Spider-Man: No Way Home Digital Release Date, Bonus Features, And More

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is making headlines months after its initial December 2021 release. The global blockbuster has made a considerable amount at the box office — over 1.8 billion to be exact (via Box Office Mojo), and fans and critics still adore the third film featuring Tom Holland's Peter Parker, as its reviews remain at a 93% critic and 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" managed to accomplish many things that prior superhero films had never attempted before. The film features villains from all of the Spider-Man movies that came before, as Holland's Peter cracked open the multiverse and brought them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by accident after seeking the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Fortunately for Holland's Peter, he wasn't alone, as both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker returned through multiverse doors courtesy of Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya), going on to help Holland's Peter defeat the villains and find his way after losing Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). Storylines for both Maguire and Garfield's iterations of the character were mentioned and focused on, providing some healing for their versions of Peter along with Holland's.

Either way, it happened, and we couldn't be happier. Things got even better recently for fans, as Sony and Marvel Studios finally announced the digital release date for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" this week. The companies also teased plenty of bonus content that is likely to excite fans everywhere. Here's what we know.

The digital release date for Spider-Man: No Way Home is on March 22, 2022

Sony has announced a March 22, 2022, release date for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" on virtually all digital platforms (via Syfy Wire). Apparently, those who have access to Vudu will be able to purchase the movie in a variety of options. There will be a selection for just the movie itself, which will be $19.99 — rather typical for new releases. Vudu will also feature a three-film bundle of the Holland Spider-Man movies for about $35, and they will also offer an eight-film pack of all the movies featuring all three Spider-Men for about $60.

Unfortunately, fans who want a physical copy of this one-of-a-kind "Spider-Man" movie in their hands will have to wait almost an entire month longer, as the Blu-Ray and 4K copies of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" will be released on April 12, according to Sony. Although this is likely a bummer for some, Marvel Entertainment announced this on their Twitter with a picture of Holland, Garfield, and Maguire recreating the famed Spider-Man pointing meme. It may be one of the best photos ever — just saying.

There will be plenty of bonus features for fans

According to a recent trailer release courtesy of Sony and IGN, fans should be prepared for plenty of bonus features and behind-the-scenes footage along with their digital or hard copies of "Spider-Man: No Way Home." There will apparently be over 80 minutes of behind-the-scenes "fun," including bloopers, and interviews. There will also be over 20 minutes extra of "Peter 2 and Peter 3," as those who have seen the movie will know this means more footage of Tobey Maguire (Peter 2) and Andrew Garfield (Peter 3).

In addition, fans will get assistance in finding hidden Marvel Easter eggs in the film, along with much more. Although it's unclear what "more" means, as it could be anything with Marvel Studios, it's likely that this could mean deleted scenes that didn't make it into the movie. This could mean anything, such as scenes with all three Spider-Men in the film, or scenes featuring Holland's Peter and the villains.

This trailer also certainly spoils every possible secret from "Spider-Man: No Way Home," as Sony and Marvel Studios have likely reasoned that if fans haven't seen the movie at least once by now in theaters, it's simply too bad. Also, the likelihood of managing to avoid spoilers for over two months is incredibly slim, whether by social media or word-of-mouth.

Either way, this announcement is surely exciting for audiences everywhere. The next "Spider-Man" film is still a little up-in-the-air, as there are rumors and fan support for "The Amazing Spider-Man 3," and supposedly confirmed plans from Amy Pascal about Holland's Spider-Man future. We'll keep you posted.
