What Is The Song In The Ms. Marvel Trailer?
It seems that besides putting together all-round banging trailers for their upcoming movies and shows, Marvel has been quick to add some top-tier earworms to have you humming long after you've watched their latest preview for the umpteenth time. After Kid Cudi's classic, "Day and Night," was aptly applied to the teaser trailer for Oscar Isaac's "Moon Knight," "Ms. Marvel" looks to be following suit for her all-new trailer as well.
Besides a potentially refreshing viewpoint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the young Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) with sketched out speech bubbles and thoughts of the high school hunk, the new trailer for "Ms. Marvel" has a great song accompaniment as well. But which perfect music choice has made its way into the upcoming adventure involving a schoolgirl and a mild case of copyright infringement that could have Captain Marvel turning up to have words? Well, with a story as exciting as this one, it only makes sense to save it for The Weeknd.
The new Ms. Marvel trailer music is modern classic Blinding Lights
Given that this new take on Kamala Khan is packing some major cosmic (?) powers, it makes sense for Ms. Marvel to be backed by none other than The Weeknd's now Tik Tok-tainted jam, "Blinding Lights." Released in November 2019 as part of the "After Hours" album, this isn't the only time the three-time Grammy-award winner has dropped into the Marvel Universe. Only a year before releasing "Blinding Lights," he worked on "Pray For Me" with Kendrick Lemar on the "Black Panther" soundtrack, so it's great to hear him turning up again, even if it is for a trailer.
Of course, with this tone and the imagery on show so far, who knows what kind of music will be accompanying Kamala's upcoming adventure as the newest hero in this jam-packed universe. We can only wait and see when "Ms. Marvel" debuts on Disney+ on June 8.
