The Real-Life Bar Where All The Molly's Scenes Are Filmed On Chicago Fire
The bar known as Molly's is an important location across all shows that constitute the popular "One Chicago" franchise. Within the context of the "One Chicago" universe, Molly's is purchased by several firefighters from "Chicago Fire," which include Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg), Otis Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov), and Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund). The trio are able to purchase the bar from somebody who is saved by the efforts of the brave firefighters in "Chicago Fire," and the location soon becomes quite popular among other emergency personal.
Not only do the characters from "Chicago Fire" frequent the bar, but other cast members from "Chicago Med" and "Chicago P.D." also enjoy the cozy atmosphere, and the bar often serves as a location outside of their normal workplaces. Molly's also acts as a means to introduce characters to each other from their sister shows, and sometimes the characters even end up on dates or helping each other out in their respective fields. Luckily for fans of the show, Molly's is an actual real life bar and not one constructed inside a sound stage, which means one can visit the location with little fuss.
Lottie's Pub serves as the real life version of Molly's
The real life location that serves as Molly's in the "One Chicago" franchise is Lottie's Pub, conveniently located at 1925 West Cortland Street in Chicago, which means that the fictional version of the bar is true to the area. According to Lottie's website, Lottie's was founded in 1934 by Lottie Zagorski, and the original location was actually a grocery store that was converted into a speakeasy during Prohibition.
Lottie's bar was a den of gambling and other vices up until the late 1960s, when the FBI conducted a raid on the premise and found paraphernalia connected to gambling, but Lottie died before being imprisoned, and the bar was sold in 1986 and renamed Lottie's Pub in honor of its original owner. Since then, Lottie's has become a fixture of history in the Windy City. Lotties has served as the backdrop for several episodes of "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," and "Chicago P.D.," so if fans should ever find themselves in Chicago, then they should probably check out the real life version of Molly's.
