Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9 Trailer Revealed
Larry David is back, and he's just as cranky as ever.
HBO released the first trailer for the upcoming ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and while it only features a brief appearance by David, it's filled with references to past seasons.
Depicting David as a superhero who "never stays silent" and "fights injustice wherever he finds it," we see callbacks to previous episodes including Al Abbas Original Best Chicken, Ricky Gervais' Mr. Simmington, and the season 7 finale's "Respect Wood."
The comedy stars the Seinfeld co-creator as an over-the-top version of himself. With 80 episodes already out there, it's HBO's longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.
The series has been off the air since 2011, but HBO revealed that a return was officially happening last June. It'll feature all of the main cast members including David, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, and Susie Essman. Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen are also set to appear as themselves and Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham will join the cast.
According to Variety, David explained the comeback like this: "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, 'I left, I did nothing, I returned.'" It's also the phrase on the poster below.
Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 will premiere Oct. 1. Until then, check out some TV characters inspired by real people.
