The Jax Theory That Would Change Everything On Sons Of Anarchy
FX's "Sons of Anarchy" is one of the biggest shows of the late noughties as Kurt Sutter's crime drama explores the tragedy of the Teller-Morrow family and the titular biker gang as they navigate their criminal enterprise through the fictional town of Charming, California. The show's blend of heartfelt storytelling with brutal criminal drama kept it on the air for six years, as its bittersweet ending wrapped things up back in 2014. Fans were clearly impressed with Jax Teller's (Charlie Hunnam) rise — and fall — as the series has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It's not just Hunnam's troubled biker who gets the spotlight in the series though, as it explores how the outlaw lifestyle affects not only the gang themselves but their loved ones, too. Although Jax initially finds love and happiness with Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff), their relationship quickly turns sour when he has to prioritize his duty to the club over his growing family.
Ultimately, the series has an incredibly tragic ending as Jax realizes there isn't a place for him in this world anymore thanks to all the carnage and destruction he's orchestrated over the years. But there's a surprising theory about his last wishes that would change everything on "Sons of Anarchy."
Did Jax ban his sons from joining the gang?
Much of the final season revolves around Jax making amends for his actions as he wants to leave the club in a better place than when he stepped up as its president. Part of this includes a face-to-face meeting with all the other presidents of various chapters, which seems to be about scrapping the law against Black members joining SAMCRO's ranks — although the audience never hears the actual conversation. However, a new theory from fans on Reddit suggests the meeting is about something entirely different, and that it was actually about banning Jax's kids, Abel and Thomas II, from joining the club when they're older.
As u/Mxj puts it, "when Jax had his face to face with the other presidents he did infact not request for them to change the unwritten bylaw about 'black' in the club, but complete refusal of his sons into the club." It's an interesting idea, since the biker king makes a point of wanting his kids to hate him for leaving them. Plus, they'd probably blame him for Tara's death since she was killed because she was involved in the club — and Gemma Teller (Katey Sagal) didn't want her to run away with Jax's sons.
However, it seems likely that Abel (Evan/Ryder Londo) and Thomas II (Sophia/Victoria Markov) would hate Jax so much that they probably wouldn't want to join the Sons anyway. Let's just hope the presidents choose to scrap the existing law against allowing Black members to join anyway, because if Jax wants to leave the club in a better place — what better way than that?
