Netflix's Def Comedy Jam 25 To Include Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, More
There's a massive 25th anniversary special planned for Def Comedy Jam, but it won't be on HBO.
Variety reports that Netflix will have the star-studded special that pays tribute to the iconic show that ran on HBO from 1992 to 1996. The show, produced by Russell Simmons, was also revived in 2006.
Def Comedy Jam helped launch the careers of comedians including Martin Lawrence, Cedric the Entertainer, and Sheryl Underwood, who are each aboard for Def Comedy Jam 25. The lineup also includes Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan, Eddie Griffin, Kevin Hart, Katt Williams, Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, JB Smoove, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, Adele Givens, Bill Bellamy, Tiffany Haddish, Kid Capri, Sommore, and Joe Torry.
The special will premiere exclusively on Netflix this fall. Check out the first teaser above.
Netflix is rapidly becoming the must-watch destination for stand-up comedy. The streaming service has massive deals with the likes of Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Louis C.K., Amy Schumer, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kevin James.
