This Is Where Bachelor In Paradise Season 7 Was Actually Filmed

On ABC's long-running series "The Bachelor" and its spinoff "The Bachelorette," the lead is introduced to 30-plus potential soulmates, who they must narrow down to a fiancé after a mere few weeks. This means that dozens go home empty handed. But for many of these eliminees, they're given a second chance at love on "Bachelor in Paradise."

Following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over 40 past contestants hit the beach for Season 7, which aired in August 2021. As usual, much drama ensued. "Grocery Store" Joe Amabile's ex-girlfriend Kendall Long attempted to win him back, but he found love with Serena Pitt. Brendan Morais expressed interest in Natasha Parker, but ultimately used her to stick around until the arrival of Pieper James. On a happier note, James Bonsall and Aaron Clancy, who formed a tight friendship on Katie Thurston's season of "The Bachelorette," enhanced their bromance.

It was the perfect setting to find love, with a slew of couples still together. Let's take a look at where the scenic filming spot is located.

Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 was filmed in Sayulita, Mexico

The cast of "Bachelor in Paradise" Season 7 traveled to Sayulita, Mexico, where they attempted to find their perfect match at the Playa Escondida resort (via Women's Health). Located on the beach, the resort, according to its official website, features a horseback riding trail, several jacuzzis and pools, and a beach bar, which was tended by Bachelor Nation favorite Wells Adams.

However, even the most beautiful places have downsides. According to actor and comedian David Spade, who was one of four celebrity guest hosts, the resort was overrun with crabs (via The Aspen Times). He said, "Crabs are supposed to be cute ... but when there's too many, it's scary. They're just spiders with good PR. They walk sideways, which nobody likes, and they were in my room and bathroom every night. It was just terrifying."

Additionally, the contestants had to deal with extreme weather, with Tahzjuan Hawkins regularly overheating from the high temperatures. In one episode, the cast and crew had to evacuate immediately due to an incoming tropical storm (via Variety). Those forming strong connections worried that being separated would have a negative impact, but production was able to resume shortly after the evacuation.

Despite some setbacks from Mother Nature while in Mexico, a number of contestants found love — Joe and Serena; Brendan and Piper; Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs; Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer; Chris Conran and Alana Milne; and Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin (via US Weekly).
