What Has Sophia Bush Been Doing Since Leaving Chicago P.D.?
Since the early 2000s, Sophia Bush has been a familiar face in the television world thanks in no small part to her role as Brooke in "One Tree Hill." But for some, the most notable role of her career is her co-lead turn in Dick Wolf's "One Chicago" universe. Playing Detective Erin Lindsay in "Chicago P.D." for four seasons, as well as plenty of appearances in other series set in the Windy City, Bush proved herself a fundamental part of the show and gave the audience an emotional touchstone to gravitate towards. That's why it seemed inconceivable that the show would ever go on without her. However, that is exactly what happened when Bush departed in 2017.
While at first, the details were kept under wraps, Bush eventually opened up while on Dax Shepard's podcast "Armchair Expert" about the extreme working conditions, specifically involving shooting in Chicago's freezing cold winters. Though many may miss her complex portrayal of Detective Lindsay, Bush certainly hasn't been lacking in job opportunities. Since leaving "Chicago P.D.," she has had many credits to her name.
Bush currently has a lead role in another network procedural show
Since leaving "Chicago P.D." in 2017, Sophia Bush's career has chugged right along. She's had guest-starring roles on episodes of the telenovela-homage "Jane the Virgin" and NBC's popular "This Is Us," as well as a recurring role on the Hulu original "Love, Victor." And in 2022, Bush once again got the opportunity to lead her own series when she was cast in the CBS drama "Good Sam." The series follows Dr. Sam Griffith (Bush) who must take over the chief of surgery role at her hospital when the person who held the position before, her own father (Jason Isaacs), falls into a coma. Of course, things get even more complicated when her father recovers and returns to work, forcing the pair to figure out how to balance their professional and personal lives.
Season 1 of the series is currently airing as of the time of writing, and Distractify reports that though the series has not been canceled, it has yet to be renewed for a second season. Should the series get renewed, it would be yet another impressive rung in the ladder for Bush's career.
