Who Plays Cisco Ramon From The Flash?

As the longest-running Arrowverse series on The CW, "The Flash" has amassed a sizable roster of colorful characters since its premiere in 2014. Obviously, Grant Gustin's Barry Allen anchors the affair, but Team Flash has also employed a plethora of different DC heroes and villains throughout the run of the series. Most notably, this includes series regular characters like Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), and the many, many iterations of Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).

Additionally, one of the most beloved members of the original bunch is Cisco Ramon (aka Vibe). Cisco has been a reliable member of Barry Allen's corner since before the first episode of the series, having first arrived in the Arrowverse in the backdoor pilot to "The Flash" during Season 2 of "Arrow." Although Cisco has since moved to a different city and no longer partakes in the day-to-day operations of Central City's finest superheroes, he remains one of the trusted allies of Team Flash.

Of course, part of what makes Cisco such an endearing character is the performer behind the role. Let's take a look at the actor who brings Cisco to life.

Cisco is portrayed by Carlos Valdez

The actor who plays Cisco Ramon in "The Flash" is none other than Carlos Valdes (via IMDb). Born in Colombia in 1989, Valdes immigrated to the United States at the young age of only 5 years old (via Marietta Daily Journal). Prior to working as a screen actor, he cut his teeth in the world of musical theater, working on "Jersey Boys" as a stand-in for several different parts throughout the production (via Playbill).

Ever since Valdes broke into the world of acting, singing has been a major part of his career. Not only did he get his start in musical theater, but in 2015 he also released an EP titled "Night Off" under his stage name "Tha Los." Given his wealth of singing experience, it certainly makes a lot of sense that Valdes played such an active role in the musical episode of Season 3 of "The Flash" (via IMDb).

So far, many of Valdes' on-screen roles have kept him firmly within the confines of the Arrowverse. Since first appearing as Cisco on "Arrow" and "The Flash," Valdes has also played the character in "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl," as well as animated offerings like "Freedom Fighters: The Ray" and "Vixen" (via IMDb). Outside of the Arrowverse, he has also appeared in a number of other projects, including one that we're willing to call Arrowverse-adjacent.

In 2019, Valdes starred alongside "Supergirl" actress Melissa Benoist in "The Stew," a 10-minute short film written and directed by Benoist's husband and fellow "Supergirl" star Chris Wood (via IMDb). In 2020, Valdes also appeared in "Wayward Guide," a miniseries released on YouTube by the Tin Can Bros. He can next be seen in Starz's "Gaslit," an upcoming series about the Watergate scandal, starring Julia Roberts and Sean Penn (via Deadline).
