The Bridgerton Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

"Bridgerton" starts out with a vast variety of colorful characters, including the lovable Bridgerton family, the Queen and her court, and the comically grasping Featherington clan. Season 1 follows Daphne Bridgerton as she and the mysterious Duke of Hastings are drawn together by the intensity of Regency London's social season, while Season 2 finds her elder brother Anthony on his quest for a wife. True love isn't ever easy to find in this delightful series — Anthony, for example, finds himself romancing a woman who is also the bane of his existence. But it's always completely worth it. Swoon.

With two seasons under their belts, "Bridgerton" fans have gotten to know dozens of characters. Everyone has a favorite, who often reminds them of themselves — you might be a fierce Kate Sharma, or perhaps a proud Queen Charlotte. The Zodiac offers a similar lens through which we might examine ourselves. Which star signs fit the lords and ladies of "Bridgerton," and which character does that make you? Gentle reader, we're here to find out.

Aries: Marina Thompson

Starting off the list is Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker), a young woman sent to live with her cousins the Featheringtons so that she can enter society. While Marina is only featured in one episode of Season 2, she's an important character in Season 1. She's the object of affection for the young Colin Bridgerton, who fan-favorite Penelope Featherington has a crush on. As the season progresses, Marina provides the Featheringtons with an alternate view of the world, which holds that love is more powerful than status. While her circumstances crush that dream, her presence weighs heavily on both Colin and Penelope, following them well into Season 2.

Marina displays clear Aries characteristics. A fire sign, Aries is passionate, stubborn, impatient, and independent. Marina is passionate about her lack of interest in debuting in society, as her heart belongs to another. Her feelings for him are so strong, she is intimate with him before the events of the show, resulting in an accidental pregnancy. Scandalous indeed — however, Marina is not ashamed of her choices, stubbornly believing that doing what she did for love was correct. The heart is truly the most curious of instruments.

Taurus: Daphne Bridgerton

Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) is announced as the diamond of the season by none other than Queen Charlotte herself in Season 1. While this honor grants Daphne her pick of suitors, it's also difficult to live up to. After all, there's nothing the Queen hates more than being wrong.

Thus, Daphne — or should we say the Duchess of Hastings? — spends much of Season 1 on a quest for true love and respectability. She hopes to find the same sort of bond her parents experienced before her father's passing. After a season of will-they-won't-they drama (and plenty of love scenes) between her and the Duke of Hastings, Daphne's story indeed ends with romance. This is why she only appears in a handful of episodes during Season 2: Daphne is there to share her wisdom with her family, and to show that happy endings can happen if you push for what you want.

Daphne is a classic Taurus. She's shown to value honesty above all else, as this sign tends to do: Her relationship with the Duke almost doesn't last, due to her discovering that he's lied to her about not being able to have children. Moreover, Daphne is also stubborn, perhaps the most classically Taurean trait. She refuses to bend during her quest to find true love, and is unbreakably loyal to those she cares for. Strength, stability, and truthfulness — that's our diamond, and our Taurus.

Gemini: Penelope Featherington

Season 1 of "Bridgerton" shocks audiences by revealing that sweet, quiet Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) is the sassy Lady Whistledown. Season 2 allows audiences to see how Penelope maintains this illusion. This dual nature makes her a classic Gemini.

Geminis are curious, affectionate, and kind. Indeed, Penelope is seen as such a docile, nice girl that she's often overlooked by her family, love interest, and even her best friend, Eloise. However, as her alter ego, Penelope blossoms. Gemini is principally known as a mutable, shifting sign, distinguished by excellent communication skills and quick wits. These born chameleons can easily adapt and change on a dime — kind of like Penelope immediately switching to a different accent to throw a printer off the scent. While this trickery and intelligence makes Penelope an amazing author, it also causes the end of her friendship with Eloise, once the Bridgerton girl discovers Penelope's secret.

Dearest reader, where this leaves us now, not even this author knows. But one thing is clear: Penelope will surely sharpen her knives once more. A brilliant, adaptable Gemini just can't stay down for long.

Cancer: Kate Sharma

"Sex Education" star Simone Ashley plays the headstrong and independent Kate Sharma. At first, she's a foil to Anthony Bridgerton, who hopes to marry her younger sister Edwina, the diamond of the season. However, as Season 2 progresses, it becomes clear that Kate is an even rarer jewel, especially in Anthony's eyes. However, since he's busy courting her sister — and very nearly marrying her — this is a major scandal.

Kate is intelligent, intuitive, and deeply driven by love. In other words, she's a classic Cancer. Though they're immensely caring people, at first glance, Cancers can come across as standoffish and even somewhat prickly. However, once you get to know them, you'll find that they're incredibly emotional people who hold their loved ones in the highest esteem. They will do whatever they can to support them — something Kate, who always puts her sister first, certainly displays when she attempts to secure Edwina's future.

Though their human connections define them, Cancers are also independent, and don't like to rely on others to get things done. Indeed, Kate puts her nose to the grindstone when it comes to helping her family. Other concerns fall away, which can make her seem aloof: When she and Anthony first meet, Kate wants nothing to do with him, and enmity quickly springs to life. But she warms up to the idea of Anthony as they're forced to spend time together, and eventually, love blossoms.

Leo: Queen Charlotte

Her Majesty Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) is a whole mood in both Season 1 and Season 2 of "Bridgerton." Easily bored, Queen Charlotte becomes obsessed with discovering the identity of Lady Whistledown, believing that no one should have more control than the Queen does over any narrative. Her character is such an enticing one, she's getting her own spinoff series, "All Hail Queen Charlotte," which will follow her younger self as she meets and falls in love with the king.

The Queen is the main character of every story, as far as she's concerned, and it's because of this that we crown her our Leo. Leos tend to be proud and bold — words one would definitely use to describe Queen Charlotte. She is the focus of attention at all times, bold in her proclamations and style. Ever the astral lion, Queen Charlotte is the first to congratulate herself on a job well done, which she does often. This is a big part of why Lady Whistledown's statements annoy her so much: They challenge her with genuine insight and make her wonder if she is, indeed, always right. But a Leo's confidence can't be broken that easily. She's a queen, after all, and she darn well knows it.

Virgo: Anthony Bridgerton

Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) takes center stage in Season 2, as the young viscount begins looking for a suitable wife. When the Queen announces the season's diamond is young Edwina Sharma, Anthony decides that this makes her marriage material. However, he ultimately falls for her headstrong sister Kate, and learns the beauty of true love. This is something his sister Daphne and his mother Violet have been trying to teach him for a while, but hey, he gets there eventually.

Anthony's pragmatic, hard-working nature makes him a clear Virgo. Virgos tend to be sophisticated, organized, and big-picture thinkers. They plan out details of their lives with incredible specificity ... but often overlook the little things they don't value as much as they should. This perfectly sums up Anthony: He treats courtship as a series of job interviews. As long as a woman checks all the boxes, he's fine with her — love doesn't matter as much as sober-minded practicality. This is a similar approach to the one he takes when helping Daphne find her match in Season 1, much to her chagrin. Luckily, through his relationship with Kate, Anthony expands his rigidly Virgo personality to encompass traits such as kindness, spontaneity, and passion.

Libra: Colin Bridgerton

Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) goes through some significant changes between Season 1 and Season 2 of "Bridgerton," as he leaves his family to travel far and wide. When he returns, he's desperate to find his place in the world, and believes he needs to find strength of his own before he can commit to someone.

While he's clearly clueless about Penelope's feelings towards him, Colin does seem to be somewhat more mature than his older brothers. While they opt to play around with various women before they settle down, he's ready to take the plunge and jump into a marriage in Season 1. In Season 2, he expresses a unique far-sightedness about his life and what he wants from it. This makes him a classic Libra. Libras are known for being intelligent, positive, and ruled by harmony — they consider things deeply before they embark on any particular action, and can analyze a situation from multiple angles. Season 2 shows just how much Colin values contentment, and how fully he understands its many sources. Once his life is thrown into chaos, his entire center is off-balance ... and yet he's never down for long. Libras hate being out of whack, but they're exceptionally good at finding their footing once more.

Scorpio: Simon Basset

Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) becomes the Duke of Hastings after the death of his estranged father. Due to their relationship — or lack thereof — Simon makes the decision to never marry or father any children, swearing that his father's line will end with him. However, once he meets, falls in love with, and marries Daphne, Simon begins to see things differently. And while he does not return for Season 2 of "Bridgerton," it's heavily hinted that Simon and Daphne still enjoy a happy life filled with love.

Season 1 depicts Simon as a passionate, independent, and magnetic person. Captivating and mysterious Scorpios are known far and wide for these three personality traits. Simon's love of independence is clear in his initial desire to be alone, and his promise to never have a family. But his ultimate decision to start a family with Daphne is also evidence for his Scorpio-hood: His passion overrules everything else. And when it comes to magnetism, well — one must admit that the Duke is an expert at the art of the swoon.

Sagittarius: Portia Featherington

The deliciously conniving and hilariously ambitious Baroness Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) is one of a kind. In Season 1, she does all she can to push her daughters to find suitable husbands, and by suitable, we mean rich. Unfortunately, she's thwarted at every turn, with the young Marina Thompson getting all the attention from suitors Portia hoped would go to her daughters. And if that weren't enough, Portia also deals with her plots being revealed by Lady Whistledown — who turns out to be her own daughter!

While the Baroness is married in Season 1, she must do everything on her own, as her husband is anything but helpful. This shows off her leadership skills and strong-willed personality, which only gets stronger in Season 2. These character traits make her a perfect example of a Sagittarius. Sagittarius does not beat around the bush: This sign prefers to tell people exactly how it is, and get to work. This is something Portia does all too well, whether she's loudly exclaiming her opinions or sighing in exasperation. Whatever her stance, she will say it to your face. While this means Sagittarius isn't always the most popular sign, it's hard not to admire their iron will and work ethic. Portia will stop at nothing to get her daughters married off, no matter what it might cost them.

Capricorn: Lady Danbury

Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) is not to be messed with, much like her friend the Queen. She's a woman with a plan, and she isn't afraid to put in a little work to get the job done. While this can make her seem harsh, she is also deeply kind. Lady Danbury is a widow, which gives her the right to cast judgment upon all those looking for love, as she's been there and done that. This hasn't made her cynical, though — if anything, it's given her a fuller appreciation of love.

Lady Danbury's strength of conviction and resourceful nature make her a complete Capricorn. This sign is known to be smart, hard-working, and in control of their destiny. Indeed, Lady Danbury answers to no one — she's even been known to get the Queen to march to her own tune, once or twice. But Capricorns aren't manipulative. They're simply focused on getting things done as efficiently, successfully, and thoroughly as possible. In Lady Danbury's case, that makes for an excellent advice-giver, matchmaker, and confidante.

Aquarius: Eloise Bridgerton

Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jesse) longs for more than marriage and babies. In fact, she doesn't even want to debut, and wishes to make a significant difference in the world. She believes women are capable of much more than romance, and while she's incredibly sheltered from the true ways of the world, she knows dresses and balls can't be all there is to a life well lived.

This idealistic nature — especially for a young woman of the Regency era — makes Eloise the perfect Aquarius. Aquarians are known for marching to the beat of their own drum. They don't like labels either — they believe in constant growth and evolution of the self. Eloise isn't exactly sure what her options for growth are, but she's desperate to find out. And she'll have to find out soon: This passionate Aquarius is at an all-time low at the end of Season 2, with the loss of the one person she could discuss her society-spurning opinions with. Hang in there, Eloise — the better world your Aquarian heart yearns for is coming.

Pisces: Edwina Sharma

The younger Sharma sister, sweet Edwina (Charithra Chandran) is Kate's opposite in almost every respect. While Kate is all brass, Edwina is incredibly gentle, proper, and well-spoken, making her the perfect diamond of the London season. Edwina also believes in true love, and initially hopes that she has found it in Anthony.

This deep emotion makes Edwina a classic Pisces. But while she's upset upon learning the truth about her sister and Anthony's feelings for one another, she's able to put her emotions aside and wish the couple the best. Pisces is known for this sort of empathy, and for being devoted to their loved ones, even if it occasionally causes them pain. Edwina's warm Piscean heart keeps her buoyed: She believes that one day, she will find her soulmate, and that this person will love her and look at her as Anthony looks at her sister.
