Neo Yokio Trailer Reveals All-Star Cast For Netflix Anime Series

Back in 2015, Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig tweeted a photo of himself with Jaden Smith along with what appeared to be a storyboard. Two years later, it's all starting to make sense.

Netflix unveiled a trailer for Neo Yokia, a six-episode anime created, written, and executive produced by Koenig with Smith as the lead. The rest of the cast is as star-studded as a Wes Anderson ensemble.

Set in a futuristic city called Neo Yokio, it centers on the lovesick Kaz Kaan (Smith), the youngest member of a family of "magistocrats" who are demon slayers that once liberated the city. But while Kaz would rather tend to his broken heart and worry about things like shopping and field hockey, his Aunt Agatha (Susan Sarandon) keeps him in the family business.

Kaz is joined by his faithful mecha-butler Charles (Jude Law) and his friends Lexy and Gottlieb (Desus & Mero) while he tries to stay ahead of his arch-rival, Neo Yokio's most eligible bachelor Arcangelo Corelli (Jason Schwartzman). But things get complicated when Kaz is pulled into the world of former fashion blogger Helena St. Tessero (Tavi Gevinson), which will cause him to question everything he knows at Neo Yokio.

All six episodes of Neo Yokio will be available on Netflix on Sept. 22. Meanwhile, take a look at everything else coming to Netflix this month.
