Who Plays Angela Blue Thunder On Yellowstone?
If you enjoyed Season 3 of "Yellowstone," you likely took notice of the character of Angela Blue Thunder, a business consultant hired by Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) of the Broken Rock Reservation to take on real estate firm Market Equities in its development plans that threaten not just Broken Rock but Yellowstone Ranch, as well. Blue Thunder is a no-nonsense lawyer who just might have an agenda of her own outside the work she's hired to do.
Unfortunately, whatever storylines may have been in the works for Blue Thunder seem to have been put on pause in the show's subsequent season, as the character makes no appearances in Season 4, nor is she even referred to by name. But the character makes a vivid enough impression in her handful of appearances that fans of the series are no doubt curious about the actor who plays her while they hold out hope that she might come back for future "Yellowstone" episodes.
Q'orianka Kilcher burst onto the scene in The New World
The performer behind Angela Blue Thunder is Q'orianka Kilcher. Although she technically made her screen debut as a Who in the 2000 live-action version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" starring Jim Carrey, Kilcher's real big break came five years later when she portrayed Pocahontas in Terrence Malick's "The New World." Just 14 years old at the time, her performance earned her widespread critical acclaim, as well as the award for best breakthrough performance by an actress from the National Board of Review.
As her IMDb credits show, Kilcher continued to be a presence in various prestige and genre TV series leading up to her role in "Yellowstone." In 2010, she landed a recurring role on "Sons of Anarchy," appearing as Kerrianne Telford in four episodes of the popular biker drama. The following year, she appeared in the "Peter Pan" prequel miniseries "Neverland," and 2012 saw her in two wildly different detective series: "The Killing," in which she appears in two episodes, and "Longmire," which features her in the Season 1 finale. In 2018, she scored one of her most prominent roles to date, co-starring in the historical detective series "The Alienist," where she played Mary Palmer, a mute woman who works as a maid to the titular alienist, Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl).
More recently, Kilcher has continued to balance roles in large studio productions and smaller independent films. She can be seen as Inca Princess Kawillaka in "Dora and the Lost City of Gold" and as Mayor Tooma in the HP Lovecraft horror film "Color Out of Space" starring Nicolas Cage. She's also in the Channing Tatum comedy "Dog," in the role of Niki.
