The Parks And Recreation Season 5 Episode Aziz Ansari Thinks Stands Above The Rest
Right up there with "The Office," "Parks and Recreation" is one of those comfort shows that fans will likely never grow tired of watching. For seven seasons, viewers tuned in to watch all of the happenings of the parks department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Led by the peppy and passionate Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and the stern, government-hating Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the department's team of misfits attempt to better Pawnee's park system one shoddy government project at a time.
Part of what drew viewers to the comedy series was not only its hilarious moments — as there were many — but also the lovable characters. "Parks and Recreation" had quite a few likable characters, including the charming Tom Haverford, played by comedian Aziz Ansari. Although Tom isn't exactly the best government employee (or person, for that matter), his penchant for the finer things in life and his ambitions for making it out of government work result in some pretty laughable moments that fans love. With so much to enjoy in every episode of "Parks and Recreation," it may be hard for fans to rank them all, but Ansari himself has revealed a favorite of his.
Aziz Ansari thinks Episode 4 of Season 5 is 'awesome'
In Season 5 of "Parks and Recreation," one episode is a standout for Aziz Ansari, aka Tom Haverford in the series. In an "Ask Me Anything" Reddit thread, Ansari was asked what his favorite episode of the upcoming season was, to which he replied, "This episode (I think episode 4) where Tom has to stop using the Internet for a week is awesome." Ansari is pointing out the episode titled "Sex Education" where Tom drives into a fire hydrant while distracted on his phone and is court-ordered to stay off screens for a week. Internet-obsessed Tom goes a bit crazy, even going as far as making an iPhone out of paper, before Ron steps in and takes him to his secluded cabin in the woods for an internet detox.
Ansari added in his reply that he improvised a line mentioning Reddit that he hoped made it into the episode. He added, "[Nick] Offerman, as always, kills it and I got to talk about a LOT of dumb internet stuff. It's like if that Wasting Time on the Internet bit from Dangerously Delicious became a TV episode."
Ansari indeed does talk about a lot of "dumb internet stuff" in the episode. After Ron tells Tom to release everything he does on screens as a way to detox, Tom goes on a lengthy tangent about his favorite internet things, including Wikipedia, emojis, and podcasts, and he even gets in his Reddit line. He says (via YouTube), "Then, I like to go on Reddit. Reddit's great because it has all of the important links you need."
