Adam Sandler And Ben Stiller Star In The Trailer For The Meyerowitz Stories

Every once in a while, Adam Sandler likes to remind us that he's capable of some moving performances.

Netflix released the first full trailer for Noah Baumbach's latest film The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), and it looks to feature another unexpected turn for Sandler.

With shades of Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums, it centers on the family of Harold Meyerowitz, a famous modern artist (Dustin Hoffman) and his three adult children played by Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Elizabeth Marvel. Each of them live in the shadow of their dad, who is now mostly cranky and complains about overpriced steak. Meanwhile, Sandler's character is struggling with the departure of his daughter (Grace Van Patten) to college.

The movie also stars Emma Thompson, Candice Bergen, Judd Hirsch, and Rebecca Miller, but it's Sandler who is getting all the talk. Critics at the Cannes Film Festival said his performance is his best since 2002's Punch-Drunk Love.

The Meyerowitz Stories will screen at select theaters and be available on Netflix beginning Oct. 13. Until then, take a look at more movies we can't wait to see this fall.
