The Stranger Things 4 Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

The characters of "Stranger Things" have always been a big part of the show's success. Sure, the cool '80s aesthetic, bumpin' synth-wave soundtrack, and retro horror storylines all help, but as the show has grown, so too has the ensemble. "Stranger Things" has assembled a massive intergenerational cast over the years, ranging from reformed high school bullies and teenage hackers to grizzled sheriffs and former Soviet scientists. Stranger things warrant stranger people, it seems.

The hit Netflix series makes that oddball group work to its benefit. Some of the show's best moments come when two characters who've barely spoken previously–and who likely come from very, verify different walks of life–are forced to talk and try to understand one another. Since it began in 2016, "Stranger Things" has been the source of numerous such touching and hilarious interactions.

"Stranger Things" Season 4 is no different in that regard, featuring the show's largest cast yet. Old favorites get new arcs that reveal different sides of their personalities, fresh character pairings yield some truly memorable moments, and a number of newcomers enter the story to shake things up in interesting ways. Some of these characters happen to align incredibly well with astrological signs. Curious about which one you're most like? Here's what "Stranger Things 4" character you are based on your zodiac sign.

Aries: Joyce

Ruling from March 21 to April 19, Aries is the sign of the ram, and it brings with it most of the brash tendencies associated with that animal. Those who wear Aries as their sun sign are typically quick to action, often to the point of making uninformed decisions. Driven equally by a competitive spirit and fierce loyalty to their friends and loved ones, Aries are often the ones leading the charge–even if that charge takes them straight into incredible danger.

She might be more aligned with other signs in the previous seasons, but in "Stranger Things 4," Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) embodies the spirit of Aries. When she learns that Hopper (David Harbour) is still alive, she wastes zero time in formulating a plan to rescue him. Trusting a crooked Russian smuggler? Sure. Infiltrating a secret Soviet prison while bound and gagged? No problem. Through it all, Joyce exhibits phenomenal courage and dedication.

Perhaps no scene displays her Aries tendencies in Season 4 better than her long-awaited reunion with Hopper. With the Demogorgon bearing down on him and Dmitri (Tom Wlaschiha), Joyce furiously flips every switch and presses every button she can find in the Russians' control room. Murray tries to calm her down, reminding her that she doesn't know what any of the controls actually do, but she keeps at it anyway. Lo and behold, she eventually finds the right one, and Hopper survives because of it. Flipping every switch is an Aries trait.

Taurus: Suzie

From April 20 to May 20, the zodiac is ruled by Taurus–the sign of the bull. Stable and occasionally stubborn, Tauruses can be the calmest people or the most obstinate, depending on the circumstances. Typically, they enjoy the natural world, as it helps them feel connected to the Earth. However, this tendency can also ground them at home. That grounded quality also makes them very responsible. They're people who can be looked to for guidance, leadership, and practicality.

First introduced in "Stranger Things" Season 3 and given a much larger role in Season 4, Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo) exemplifies many of the main Taurus traits. "Stranger Things 4" shows her home life, which seems to be a constant disaster area thanks to her many rambunctious siblings. Yet Suzie manages to keep her own life in order in spite of the chaos. She's shown to be one of the two most responsible kids in the house, and her room is an oasis of peace and quiet in a loud and wild place.

Further, Suzie repeatedly displays the Taurus qualities of responsibility, devotion, and stubbornness. In Season 3, she refuses to help Dustin unless he sings "Never Ending Story" with her, for example. Her stubbornness continues to be on display in Season 4. However, like most Tauruses, Suzie is willing to help however the group needs and keeps a level head through it all.

Gemini: Robin

The first air sign of the zodiac, Gemini rules from May 21 to June 20. Geminis are known for being incredibly social, and that's certainly true. However, their talkative nature usually comes from an intellectual desire to learn as much as they can from the people around them. A Gemini's pursuit of knowledge can occasionally lead them into trouble, and they often exhibit indecisiveness in difficult situations. Overall, though, Geminis are both sharp and capable. They're adaptable to all sorts of situations and more than willing to dive into dangerous spots in the interest of community and education.

Robin (Maya Hawke) is a textbook Gemini in "Stranger Things" Season 4. She talks the ears off of basically everyone she encounters, especially Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer). But while Robin may seem a little airheaded in those fast-talking moments, she's anything but. She's the one who thinks of using the video rental store's customer database to identify a possible lead, and she's the one who figures out that music is an effective deterrent against Vecna. Even when faced with incredible danger, Robin finds a way to push through. Her voyage to the Upside Down is incredibly frightening, but like the Gemini she is, Robin still manages to find joy in the sense of discovery.

Cancer: Max

The sign of the crab and the first water sign of the zodiac, Cancer applies to those born between June 21 and July 22. Like their symbol, Cancers can be hard-shelled and resistant to letting people in. They avoid emotional attachments because they view them as potential weaknesses and opportunities for them to get hurt. However, once you earn a Cancer's trust, you'll find a loyal, intelligent, and fiercely discerning friend. Their emotions can rule them from time to time, but that's not inherently a bad thing. In fact, it's part of what makes Cancer such an artistically inclined sign.

Sadie Sink's Max Mayfield fits well into the category of Cancer in "Stranger Things 4," and not for especially happy reasons. After the traumatic experience of seeing her stepbrother Billy mauled by the Mind Flayer, Max's life took a downward turn. Her mother works two jobs to support them, and Max is largely left to fend for herself. She pushes her boyfriend Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and the rest of the crew away because of the hurt inside her, but she never stops being the same devoted person she was in Seasons 2 and 3.

It's also worth noting that music plays a particularly important role in Max's "Stranger Things 4" arc, even saving her life at one point (in arguably the season's best scene). That's the kind of triumph that any Cancer would be proud of.

Leo: Vecna

The second fire sign of the zodiac and arguably the hottest one as well, Leo rules from July 23 to August 22. With the lion as its symbol, there should be no doubt as to what kind of personality is common for Leos–big, bold, and boisterous. The natural kings, queens, and nonbinary rulers of their environments, Leos can be the life of the party, but also sometimes the tyrants at the top of the food chain. They love luxurious living and generally feel like they deserve it, but their egos aren't always a bad thing. Quite the contrary, a Leo can be the perfect person to help pull you out of a slump or be your cheerleader when you need it most.

With no offense intended to all the wonderful Leos out there, the best example of the fire sign in "Stranger Things 4" is Vecna, the season's big bad. Initially introduced as an enigmatic Upside Down being with deadly psychic powers, Vecna is later revealed to be none other than One (Jamie Campbell Bower), the original test subject of Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) and the youngest child of the Creel family. Flashbacks detail how One brutally killed his mother and sister while he was still just a boy, and he embarks on an even bloodier massacre after Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) unwitting frees him from Brenner's control. One is the worst of the Leos–a person who truly believes himself to be better and more powerful than all others. But even as a villain, he still shows kindness and support to El, reflecting a brief shimmer of the sign's nicer qualities.

Virgo: Hopper

Known for fierce loyalty and dedication in all aspects of life, Virgo rules the zodiac from August 23 to September 22. Those who wear the Earth sign are known for being grounded and pragmatic. They buckle down and do the work, no matter how long it takes or how hard it might be. Of course, there's a flip side to that as well. Virgos tend to lean towards martyrdom, displaying levels of pessimism and self-critique that can be off-putting to others. With the right encouragement and support system, though, Virgos are some of the most capable and determined people you'll ever meet.

It should come as no surprise that Jim Hopper is the resident Virgo of "Stranger Things" Season 4. His whole arc in Russia oozes martyrdom, with Hopper even giving a full monologue about how he's a curse and deserves to suffer. That's some pretty hardcore Virgo business, but thankfully, Hopper gets out of it with a little help from his friends. He finds new reasons to fight and fresh confidence in himself, which ultimately leads to a triumphant reunion with Joyce.

Even in his darkest moments, Hopper never stops bringing useful things to the table. He's the one who makes a plan to defeat the Demogorgon, and he's the one who assembles the supplies. When his back's against the wall, he still sticks to the plan–a true Virgo from start to finish.

Libra: Eddie

The second air sign of the zodiac, Libra rules from September 23 to October 22. Represented by the scales, it's a sign that's strongly associated with balance and equity. Libras tend to be natural arbiters with good people skills, and they often possess a lot of empathy as well. At their best, they can help establish the kind of serene environment in which they thrive. However, Libras can also be a bit conflict-avoidant. When the situation at hand feels off for whatever reason, they may have trouble making decisions, and they can be strikingly vindictive.

When you picture the peaceful mediator that is Libra, you probably don't picture "Stranger Things" Season 4's Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn). He's an outcast, a metalhead, and a contrarian who rages against the machine that is high school. And yet, as the season progresses, Eddie reveals himself to be a surprisingly good fit for the air sign. As the Dungeon Master of the Hellfire Club, he's the center of his own social world, and he takes that responsibility seriously. The space he creates is a safe one, and he balances a lot of different personalities to help the club thrive.

It's also worth noting that, despite his abrasive exterior, Eddie's really a softie at heart. It takes him no time at all to strike up a connection with Chrissy (Grace Van Dien), even though they come from very different worlds. That's a sign of Libra-level empathy for sure.

Scorpio: Eleven

With a Scorpio, you're never quite sure what you're going to get. The second water sign of the zodiac rules from October 23 to November 21, and those born in that range can be either your closest friend or your most dangerous enemy. Strong, courageous, and capable, Scorpios are always playing the angles. They're slow to trust and usually have a backup plan for most scenarios. That can make them seem untrustworthy at times, but the truth is much more complicated than that. In reality, Scorpios are simply prepared for disappointment, and they keep things pretty close to the chest as a result. Sure, that tendency can lead to some double-crossing, but Scorpios can also be some of the most loyal people you'll ever meet.

In "Stranger Things 4" in particular, Eleven embodies the spirit of Scorpio. She's been through a ton, and the weight of it all comes crashing down on her gradually throughout the season. Whom can she trust? The Doctor who abducted her as a child and kept her imprisoned? The government agents who want to turn her into a weapon? Her friends, now so far away? All these uncertainties force El into a state of self-preservation, where her main focus is on survival. That's a mindset that many Scorpios relate to. And, like others who wear the water sign, Eleven is a force to be reckoned with.

Sagittarius: Yuri

Sagittarius is known as the sign of the traveler, represented by the bow and arrow and embodying the spirit of wanderlust. Those born between November 22 and December 21 wear the fire sign, which often compels them into adventurous flights of fancy. Known for their sharp wit, endless social energy, and love of new experiences, they can occasionally go too far in both their words and their deeds. But never let it be said that having a Sagittarius around is boring, because it's always going to be anything but.

One of the smaller new characters in "Stranger Things 4" is Yuri (Nikola Đuričko), a Russian smuggler and pilot who agrees to help Joyce and Murray rescue Hopper, then stabs them in the back, and ultimately ends up helping them in spite of himself. A consistent joker who's his own biggest fan, Yuri embodies the Sagittarius qualities of travel and good humor, as well as the fire sign's tendency to get into hot water. Is he a villain? Well, he's certainly willing to do bad things that are in his own best interest. Yet it's hard not to find Yuri at least a little bit endearing. It must just be that classic Sagittarius charm.

Capricorn: Jason

Ruling from December 22 to January 19, Capricorn embodies all the traits you'd naturally associate with an Earth sign: stability, consistency, and responsibility. Capricorns are natural leaders who deeply value their family and friends, and who will go to great lengths in order to preserve those relationships and the traditions surrounding them. Because Capricorns often want to take the lead, they can come off as condescending or controlling at times. They can fall into the trap of pessimism, and once there, they may believe that their way is the only way out.

"Stranger Things 4" newcomer Jason Carver (Mason Dye) is an excellent representative of the zodiac's last Earth sign. First introduced when he delivers a pep rally speech to his Hawkins High peers, Jason is the typical small-town golden boy. He's well-spoken, handsome, a talented athlete, and can even quote scripture off the cuff. All that said, he still reads as being pretty level-headed. That is, until his girlfriend is brutally murdered and things start to spiral out of control.

Like many other Capricorns, Jason begins to assume the worst and decides that he's the only one capable of saving the town. His speeches and vigilante actions only end up causing more trouble, but that doesn't stop him. A know-it-all in every sense but still a stalwart leader to his friends, Jason is a classic Capricorn in every sense.

Aquarius: Erica

Aquarius is generally seen as the most humanitarian sign of the zodiac, equally energized by helping others and by creating new paths. Those born between January 20 and February 18 tend to be intensely independent, resisting all forms of conformity and blazing their own trails wherever possible. They might come off as a bit emotionally distant at times, but their actions always speak louder than their words. They can also be a bit bristly and temperamental, but that's mostly because they care so much about what they're doing.

Did you start picturing Priah Ferguson's Erica Sinclair during that description? There are good reasons for that. Erica has always embodied the Aquarius traits of independence and emotional bluntness, but in Season 4, she also becomes a much more central player in the overall story. It turns out that Erica doesn't just bring the snark; she really cares about the fate of her family, her town, and her friends, and she repeatedly puts herself in danger in order to help them. Yes, she can still be a bit difficult at times, but that's just the Aquarius way.

Pisces: Will

The final sign of the zodiac, Pisces rules those born from February 19 to March 20. A water sign, it's viewed by many as the most unique of them all. Those who wear Pisces can seem distanced from reality, but they often have whole worlds of their own that no one else can see. Incredibly attuned to emotions and spirituality, Pisces maintain a sense of childlike wonder as they move through the world, but they also possess deep wisdom. Difficult to understand at times, they nonetheless make for fantastic friends once you get to know them.

It should come as no surprise that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is the patent Pisces of "Stranger Things 4." An enigmatic artist and a person who never lets go of his childlike nature, Will is highly attuned to those around him and is often the wisest person the group. Heck, his nickname in the show is "Will the Wise." Be it his mysterious painting or his soft-spoken approach to social situations, Will repeatedly shows that he has a Pisces soul.
