The Blacklist Character That Ruined The Show According To Fans

The crime-thriller series "The Blacklist" brings a different take to the typical police procedural show by adding a few more twists and turns and quite a bit more drama. A reformed criminal mastermind, Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), is brought in as a sort of informant for a team of FBI agents and acts as a guide for one, in particular, Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), as she attempts to unravel her true identity.

The show's structure creates the perfect platform for adding new characters that can enter and exit the series multiple times as required by the storyline. Of course, as with any series, some characters are more liked than others. But when it comes to "The Blacklist," fans don't shy away from blatantly calling out one character in particular as being responsible for supposedly ruining the show altogether. This isn't the first series to have a character that leaves fans in an uproar, though you may be surprised to find out the identity of the character from "The Blacklist" who has seemingly annoyed viewers the most.

A lot of fans can't stand Elizabeth Keen

A Reddit thread dedicated to the worst character in "The Blacklist" exists, and most users agreed that it's none other than one of the show's long-time main characters, Elizabeth Keen. The post kicked off with a user asking the question, "Who is the worst character ever, and why is it Elizabeth Keen?" Ouch. Well, other users quickly jumped on this thread to dive into some reasoning behind the disdain for Agent Keen.

For starters, u/Root661 wrote, "She has no loyalty and can't be trusted." u/Serling389 brought up the Season 8 storyline when they commented, "You will be happy when you get to season 8, the last episode," referring to the final story arc in Season 8 involving Keen in which she gets killed after turning into a criminal herself. Killing off Keen came from Megan Boone's decision to leave the show so that she could pursue other projects (via Variety).

In an emotionally charged Instagram post made by Boone back in June 2021, she talked about her exit from the show, saying, "This experience, for me, has been an entire life inside of my own life. These eight years playing Liz Keen have helped me better define the world and myself, as she set out to do the same." So while there are a few fans out there that are more than happy with her departure from the series, it's clear the character of Elizabeth Keen impacted the lives of both viewers and those on the show in a big way.
