The Man In The High Castle Season 3 Trailer Reveals Otherworldly Development
Amazon's The Man in the High Castle shows us an alternate version of our own world in which World War II played out very differently, but a trailer for the third season reveals that things could get even more complicated than that.
In the trailer, which debuted at New York Comic Con, we see General John Smith (Rufus Sewell), an SS Obergruppenführer summoned to a secret facility where Nazi scientists have a "film courier" strapped to an examination table. He's told that the apparently unconscious woman is actually from another part of the multiverse.
"I don't understand," Smith says. "So you're saying that different versions of us exist in different worlds?"
The series is loosely based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick. In the show's alternate version of 1962 America, the Axis powers won World War II and divided the United States into the Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States. The series follows characters whose lives intertwine after coming into contact with a series of propaganda films that show a very different history from their own.
The Man in the High Castle returns to Amazon sometime next year.
